Ultimaniac S Score for each stage.

Does anyone know the S requirement score to get S rank in each stage in Ultimaniac?

I just did Caer Norvent and got an S and every leg except one in which I got A and I still got only a A at the end (so mad right now)

FFXVI Part 2: Quest 5 – The Dark of Night Translation and Archive

The Dark of Night is up!

If there's one spot to really read here, it's this one: Cid’s Motivations for Saving Bearers. Cid's motivations and his goal got a pretty major re-write between Japanese and English. This rewrite links up to the differences between Japanese and English at Benedikta & Cid’s Confrontation in Norvant Fortress. ...Which will link up to someone else's motivation and goal differences later down the line...

------------------

Quinten is one of those characters where his Japanese and English personalities differ, especially once his Japanese VA delivery style is taken into account. There's this sense of amusement to him in Japanese that is lacking in English. Particularly whenever he talks about doing things that go against the grain while getting away with it...

------------------

One of my favorite general "Japanese vs English" examples of what differences between them tend to be like is Cid's response to Clive after Quinten gives Clive his brooch/seal.

>(Japanese)
The 《brooch》 you received
is a sign its master has approved of you.
If a master has put in a good word for you,
they’ll listen, even if you’re a Bearer.

>(English)
You don’t need to worry about that just yet. Trust me.
Everyone in Lostwing knows what that seal means…and what it means if they don’t take note.

Japanese Cid just explains what is going on right then and there. English Cid puts it off and then never explains it...which leaves it up to the Thousand Tomes to do it instead. And even then the Thousand Tomes entries mention slightly different things about how this works...

------------------

One of the Japanese NPC lines here is really interesting and is foreshadowing about a topic FFXVI will go into a lot more later!

>Steely-Nerved Woman (Japanese)
The village residents gathered here have the same “thoughts” as the Master.
We will absolutely not allow it to be invaded by outsiders.

>Hard-bitten Villager
Most of us came to Lostwing to get away from the kind of thing that happened last night.
Which only makes it worse…

The "thoughts" used here are the same type of "thoughts" that Clive will spend a lot of time talking about in Act 3 with Barnabas and Ultima. And this NPC is talking about how the Lostwing villagers are sharing thoughts in the same way as Clive will later on!

Happy reading everyone!

I love Clives uncle

This dude is a riot. Uncle Byron is funny. He seems like a genuinely good guy and he absolutely LOVES his nephew and immediately throws all of his support behind him without question. He even cried when they reunited It was heartwarming. Ok I'm done. I had to share how much I love this guy with people who would actually know what I'm talking about. I hope he doesn't die. This game is sad enough

One of the very few games I've gone out of my way to get all the achievements for on Steam.

Bought it at release on PC and played nonstop until the first finish but only recently picked up with Final Fantasy mode and decided to do it all. Carpal tunnel included as I eschewed using any of the helper rings except Evade just for essentially a fight and a half. The first time because the game crashed near the end of the last stage of the Odin fight and I'd had enough of that lol. And Leviathan, which predictably took a while regardless.

Still going to dabble a bit in the extra/score modes before recovering that 160gb for other games. Won't be long probably before another install though.

Where is the Momentum?

Does this game pick up in pace? No disrespect- I see the great reviews and it’s on catalogue now. But it feels like my first six hours so far have been dialogue scenes. Maybe 15 min of battle. RDR2 took some time but this feels like it’s dragging.

Is it just me, or does the FF7 Remake version of Ifrit look like a goofy Dhalsim compared to how incredibly ferocious Clive’s Ifrit is?

Any side quest worth doing?

I’m extremely limited on time but a huge FF fan. I’m finally getting a chance to play, but I’ve heard a lot of the side quest are essentially fetch quest.

Are any worth doing or are they best just skipped?

What is up with fans of other FF games being so toxic about 16

Every post in the main sub is "WAHH I HATE FF16 WAHHH" do these people have jobs (not an ff job)? Or a life? Do they understand that 16 is ONE FUCKING GAME out of like 30 main games and spin offs

Just got Titan Eikon, am I missing something?

So I just got the Titan Eikon and Mid has returned to the Hideaway but it feels like this game is incomplete or kinda lacking?

I get that this is more of an action game than the traditional FF RPG style but I haven't seen a single Alliant Report yet, I've hardly needed to craft or upgrade anything, there's not much of a party system, the only things worth buying is (very expensive???) music? It's like there's supposed to be more to everything but I'm getting the feeling that it's never actually going to come?

Can someone tell me if I'm judging too early? Do these things become more useful or relevant later? The story is great and gameplay is fun but I just have this sense of disappointment from everything that's not an intense action sequence.

What If Final Fantasy XVI Was a TV Series? (Trailer) [OC]

I can't be the only one that thought the game was incredibly cinematic, so much so that it would make an amazing TV show.

Thus, here I present my FINAL FANTASY XVI RE-EDIT series.

Unlike traditional "full game movies" this not just a cutscene compilation, this project extensively edits, restructures, and reorganizes the game's footage into a story-focused episodic experience. Gameplay elements, repetitive encounters, mission titles, HUD elements, and game-oriented pacing have been removed whenever possible to create a smoother and more immersive cinematic presentation.

This re-edit aims to preserve Clive Rosfield's journey by carefully stitching together cutscenes to create a viewing experience that feels closer to a traditional television series than a video game adaptation.

This video is only the trailer for the project. Episode 1 is currently uploaded as well.

Combo ideas

Hey guys! I've just unlocked Odin and this is what I got so far!

I'm struggling a bit to fill the zantetsuken bar so I'd appreciate it if anyone can share some combo routes to properly use Odin's skillset.

I'm using logos unleashed but I'm not very good at styling honestly 😅
