Handyman installed my new dishwasher(Bosch 800) the insulation blanket shift when he pushed it in, fix it?

Hey all,

A handyman installed my dishwasher yesterday. When he was pushing the unit in I saw the insulation blanket on the right side get stuck on the edge of the cabinet and when you kept pushing it definitely shifted it on the side where I'm sure it's now not in the right spot under the cabinet.

Is this something worth me pulling it out to fix it? Or should I just ignore it?

PDC emulator NTP time is off, and it was set to the "Local CMOS". Is this an easy/safe fix? or should i plan accordingly?

Hey all,

Staff pointed out to me that the system clocks on machines was 2 minutes faster than their phones. I investigated and sure enough the domain NTP server(a DC running FSMO) was off.

Running w32tm /query /source shows its using "Local CMOS Clock".

I'd like to change this to "time.windows.com". Is this a pretty risky change on a domain? like am i walking into a domain disaster if i make this change on the PDC?

Server is physical, not a VM.

Curious if others know of good contractors or companies that do kitchen and bathroom work?

Has anyone ever heard of or worked with ace interiors? Or easy kitchen & bath?

Is this a bed bug? Was walking on my pants

This was on my pant leg. We had to clear out an old person's hope early today, although it's been a few hours. I've also been outside. Is this a bed bug or just another bug that landed on me?

"Hostname Resolution failed" IPsec VPN with SAML over TCP 443 for both. Fortigate 7.6.7

Hey all,

Could use some help. I configured IPsec dialup user remote access vpn for our staff on our fortigate. I set the IPsec IKE and SAML over 443 using "set ike-tcp-port 443" to make sure they dont get blocked at hotel wifi's, etc. I'm using forticlient 7.4.7.2003(paid version). The forticlient connects to the fortigate IPsec interface, the SAML prompt appears(although it actually never lets me enter my password, it popups then vanishes but it shows success in Azure). But then immediately the forticlient disconnects with a "hostname resolution failed". When running a wireshark i see that the client tries to perform LDAP queries to the internal domain for some reason despite the SAML Auth. Of course the LDAP fails because its not connected to the VPN to reach the DC. Any ideas whats going on?

EDIT: I figured it out. In the EMS profile for remote access in the tunnel i had set the remote gateway as a full url path. instead of just the '<domain>.com' Cant believe i missed this. This immediately fixed the host name failed issue, and i proceeded to get a EAP issue after that which was resolved by fixing the object id on the user groups setting in the fortigate. I'm connected and working with IPsec IKE and SAML over 443!

IPsec VPN for remote workers, how do i make sure they wont get blocked on hotel wifi's, etc?

Hello All,

I need to create a IPsec VPN with SAML auth for remote users. My concerns are that some of the users use Cell internet at home and some travel, and use hotel WiFi's. I'm concerned of ports being blocked. With this in mind, what should i be on the look out for, and what should i change?

Should i change the default SAML port?

Should i change the IKE and NAT-T ports?

Should i just risk it and leave it all default? Anyone ever see any issues with this?

Thanks!

activate a server 2022 with another servers key allowed if you have the licenses for all?

Hey all,

I need to do an in-place upgrade on a server 2019->2022. The server is a VM that resides on a Hyper-V server that is running server 2019, but that hyper-v server has a datacenter 2022 license and cals. So i cant activate using the hyper-v server buts its technically covered under license.

I have a few other 2019 server standards on physical hosts that have 2022 licenses with downgrade rights. Can i use one of their licenses to activate the VM? I'm technically covered from a license standpoint. Or is that not allowed?

Hey all, we are staying in Kyoto our first few nights, but flying into narita in toyko(only route from our airport). We have to land, take the narita express, and then shinkansen to book it over to Kyoto. We think we will be in Kyoto and our hotel around 9:00pm that night. Will our hotel cancel our reservation coming in that late?? I don't speak Japanese so I'm nervous about trying to call them once we get in Japan to let them know we will be late.

Is this a real concern or am I overthinking it?

Hey all,

With the new portable charger rules for japan flights. I have some questions:

  • the limit is 160Wh,
    • does that mean this 165W Anker Laptop Power Bank, 25,000mAh Portable Charger with Triple 100W USB-C Ports is still allowed as it sits around ~100Wh?
  • If we are flying on a US airline company into Japan, are we still prohibited from using the charger in the cabin?
    • We like to play steamdeck on long flights, and without the battery bank, it only lasts like 2 hours. And no, the charging ports under the seats dont always work, especially not for steamdecks.

Thanks for the help, I'm worried i need to find something else to occupy my time on a long flight if i cant even keep my steamdeck charged.
