Dogs in schools campus after hours….

Very often I go to Thousand Oaks Elementary I see people bring their dogs inside the play lawns and playgrounds

why is this tolerated….especially in elementary school aged kids who are not the best at washing hands and avoiding touching their eyes and months. literally where kids play, dogs are pooping and peeing…..

it’s just so gross to me. It seems to just be “accepted” even though there are signs everywhere that say no dogs on campus at any time.

Healthcare Timelines after Abnormal eFTS [on]

EDIT: Okay just got the call from specialist in Kingston, they recommended an detailed anatomy scan at 20 weeks. So we have our answer, I guess the medical advise is with the low-risk NIPT, is just to wait and see if any congenital anomalies

-----------
Hello- were navigating a situation with our surrogate who lives in Ontario, question is more about the healthcare system and timing. Since we are just a bit removed from talking to the doctors we just wanted to make sure we were not missing anything.

Okay so so far we had the eFTS screening done on July 8th, and Dr let surrogate know on July 14h that the eFTS had a 3,4mm NT and a 1 in 2 chance of Down Syndrome. Obviously this has been super nerve racking for everyone. The doctor I understand mentioned that there would be more tests and genetic counselor appointment, amnio etc.

It took until July 28th for the blood draw for the NIPT, and then we got the results on Aug 11 that it came back low risk (YAY!) The pregnancy is 16W4D along at this point. I understood the Doctor still said that because of the original enlarged NT, that they would have an early anatomy scan around 18.5 weeks, refer to the specialist and they might recommend an amniocentesis.

At this point, okay we were feeling fine but we thought there would be some urgency to get the amnio scheduled ASAP, because it take 2-3 weeks to even get the results. Find out today that our surrogate is still waiting from a call from the genetic specialist to even schedule that appointment, and her understanding is is after that appointment they might schedule the amniocentesis.

My questions really are, is this the way timing works in Ontario? I know in some parts of the world you can get an amnio scheduled at 16 weeks. Based on the timing of how its going, just estimating. schedule genetic appointment at 17.5 weeks, have appointment at 18.5 weeks, then schedule amnio at 19.5 weeks, then maybe we are at 22.5 weeks before we get the results. This just seems really slow compared to what I have heard from others.... Is this timing normal, or should we be trying to move things along faster, and if the latter how do you recommend we do that?

North Berkeley and Ashby BART

question, why did BART decide to develop subsidized housing. Wouldn’t all market rate housing make more sense because then you could actually use the proceeds as continuing revenue source to actually keep the system running.

like we can always upzone around bart and require those developers to develop subsidized housing , but there seems to be just this one chance to create continuous revenue that BART desperately needs

this is the way Hong Kong mass transit works. rent for businesses and housing funds the transit. just seems weird that BART is having a funding crisis and at the same time not using its land to the fullest.

▲ 1 r/NIPT

3.4mm NT - advise please 🙏

had our NT today, baby measuring 11W5D, CRL of 53.1mm and NT of 3.39mm

it’s an IVF baby, and the embryo was tested PGT-A normal with a donor 25 years old ova, so this NT result caught us by surprise.

doctor hasent called yet to explain the results so just trying to prepare

no NIPT test yet, but not sure it even makes sense to. with PGT-A tested embryo. also NIPT can only test for the t21 t18 and t13 with donor ova. I would think pgta that came out normal is just as accurate for those.

Spouse ARC but partner born in China

My Dad (American but born in China) wants to apply for ARC via his wife (Born in Taiwan NWHR)

I read that it is complicated to apply if your spouse is born in Mainland China, My dad was born in 1953, he claims it was a home birth and that he does not have any documentation of it. When he was very young, (less then 5) the family moved to Hong Kong so he has a Hong Kong visa, and then when he was 5 years old they moved out of Hong Kong and never moved back to China.

How does he prove that he is not "Chinese" if he has no record of his birth or household registration etc. Whenever USA paperwork lists his place of birth he was honest and wrote the Chinese Provence where he was born.

If he has a USA passport, is that sufficient to say that he does not have Chinese nationality? My understanding is is that if you have voluntarily obtained a foreign passport, the Chinese government considers your Chinese nationality automatically voided.

2020 Outback

I got my windshield replaced at a shop that my Insurance recommended.

When they finished I noticed that the gap between the windshield and the metal on the passengers side and driver side is visibly different.

The gap on the passenger side is about 8mm, on the driver side its 4-5mm

Is this okay? If not is there a reference to service manual or something that it is out of tolerance. I want some back-up to ask them to redo it.

Is there any guide for how to get MINOR (under 18) children their NWHR passport? Born of a parent(s) who has NWHR at time of child's birth, but have a moved out HHR.

Whats the best way to travel in to Taiwan to make that happen? I remember seeing a blog post somewhere of someone detailing that processes, but now I can find it.

Basically Id like my baby/child to get a NWHR passport, before any rule changes that might make things harder
