IBA CS Preparation vs LCAT (LUMS Entry Test) – Is IBA CS Enough for LCAT & Other University Tests?
Assalam o Alaikum everyone, I am currently planning to prepare for the IBA Karachi CS entry test and I want to understand how far this preparation can take me for other university entrance exams in Pakistan. My main question is: 👉 If I prepare for IBA CS level (Math + English + Reasoning), will it also cover the LCAT (LUMS Entry Test) and other similar university entry tests? I am trying to avoid separate preparation courses and want to prepare smartly using one strong foundation. My Understanding IBA CS Entry Test includes: Algebra, functions, trigonometry Matrices, vectors, probability Calculus (limits, derivatives, integrals) Coordinate geometry and conics Strong English + analytical reasoning LCAT (LUMS Entry Test) includes: SAT-style math (basic to intermediate level) English comprehension and grammar Logical reasoning and problem solving Fast-paced MCQs and pattern-based questions My Questions 👉 Is IBA CS preparation enough for LCAT and similar tests? 👉 How much syllabus overlap is there between IBA CS and LCAT? 👉 Do I need separate preparation for LCAT or just practice past papers? 👉 Which areas should I focus on if I want to cover both efficiently? Goal I want to prepare one strong foundation (IBA CS level) that can help me: IBA CS admission IBA BBA admission LCAT (LUMS) Possibly HU TOPS and other university tests So I am looking for honest guidance from seniors or people who have given these exams.
