Long line of cracked subway tile- failure 1 year after renovation

Hard to see, but that shadow next to the door frame is a long, thin crack that goes all the way down the shower. The contractor said the house must have shifted- the house is 26 years old and this was a renovation. I want to make sure the fix is correct - what should I be asking for? Does this whole wall of tile need to come down?

How had I never heard of BVD?!

I just stumbled into this corner of the internet looking for help with my highway driving anxiety. I have been experiencing highway driving anxiety for about 11-12 years now. It’s gotten a bit better, but I’ve noticed it’s the worst when a) passing trucks b) I’m on wide open roads/multiple lanes c) once I’ve been driving on the highway about 30 mins and d) at night.

I’m wondering if my eyes sort of get more tired at that 30 min mark, causing BVD to get worse and cause the symptoms. I’ve been telling my husband for years that I will suddenly just feel like I can’t see as I’m passing trucks and begin to panic. It’s so weird! Cloudy days also make my vision way worse.

I came across BVD symptoms and called almost immediately to get in with my optometrist. It’s like I was checking all my symptoms off- I get panicky in big stores like Costco or Walmart, feeling like I can’t walk straight. I also get very off-balance when I walk my dog at night and feel like I’m going to just like, tip over. I also get antsy in large crowds, like a concert venue or football games, and it isn’t a normal anxiety, it’s more like I just feel like I’m getting dizzy. Oh! And I can’t look straight up at the sky when I’m standing. In fact, I often will feel dizzy when I stand somewhere for a few mins talking to someone.

I really hope BVD is actually the answer to what is going on. I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD, and I also read these overlap. It’s like so much is all making sense! Wild.

Fridge quit over the weekend

Just as the title says, our 16 yr old GE called in quits. It’s chilling up to about 50°, freezer getting up to 25°, and we are taking this as an opportunity to just buy a new one.

However, we’ve come to realize that our family of 5 has been surviving with a counter-depth the last 9 years we’ve live in this house. It never occurred to me since the fridge came with the house, and it isn’t exactly flush in its home.

That being said, we are looking at a Bosch or GE Profile. We *do* plan on a kitchen remodel in the next year or two. Will I kick myself if I go with a standard? Am I going to think it sticks out an obnoxious amount? Or will I be thrilled with more space?
