Please let us target testing station loot

I'm not asking for targeting a specific item, but at least being able to target weapons, armor, or augments would be nice. The "players will get the best gear and then get bored" point is moot when only a very small percentage of the current playerbase even has grade 5 gear, hell a lot of them don't even do overland testing stations at all. Just let us feel like we have SOME agency in what kind of loot we'll get.

Quick guide on The Old Quarry boss fight, aka how to roleplay an MQ-9 Reaper

Just cleared the dungeon on level 19 with grade 4 gear after a few deaths and I figured I'd share what worked for me because man this boss fight's a real pain in the ass.

First off, weapons-wise you're going to need a melee weapon and a missile launcher. Abilities-wise, you don't need anything but energy capsule doesn't hurt. For techniques, use center of mass, disciplined breathing, and heavy weapon agility. Armor-wise, full suspensor belt. Light armor is also good for less stamina drain while dashing.

The goal of this setup is to clear out most or all of the mobs with the missile launcher, then heavy melee spam the boss until she spawns another pack of mobs, rinse and repeat. The problem is that the melee mobs are fast buggers, you are pretty slow while aiming a missile launcher, and the boss has a drillshot that will delete you if it hits. If your shield gets tagged, you MUST dodge to remove the darts.

Fortunately, you can more or less eliminate the movement speed penalty from the missile launcher by sprinting, then hovering, THEN aiming. With heavy weapon agility, if you're not flying straight at the boss then you should be moving too fast for them to hit you with the drillshot. Pick a mob in the middle of the pack, lock on, and blast them. Reload, land to recharge energy, pop energy capsule if it's up, and repeat until there's almost no mobs left. Stab whatever's left and get to work on the boss until they spawn another wave. Melee seems to do a lot more damage to this boss than shotguns, plus it's a whole lot safer. If the boss does the thing where she calls some mobs over to heal off them, just aim at her instead to kill them and hurt her.

Note that this strategy becomes a lot less effective once you can no longer one-shot the mobs with the missile. A grade 5 Ancient Way with 2 damage augments and a high combat level might be able to do it at level 19, my grade 4 with 2890 damage, combat level 79, and landsraad 33% ranged damage buff could not without energy capsule.

First off, I'd just like to say it's nice that there is some kind of PVE endgame with a grind at all. It's really repetitive, poorly balanced, and not respectful of the player's time, but if it didn't exist then I'd probably just have backed everything up and uninstalled after finishing chapter 3's story.

All the issues with the dungeons specifically aside, the only real reason to get better graded gear outside of the 5% of the playerbase that does any kind of non-vehicular pvp is just grinding dungeons at higher difficulty to get better graded gear. It's like running grandmaster strikes in Destiny 2, except it's better done solo, not nearly as flashy, and there are no other worthwhile activities to actually use your loot in so you just run more grandmaster strikes.

We need other PVE activities that are meaningfully rewarding and warrant having better gear, especially for groups. Something akin to world bosses, public events, or raids that are big challenges that typically require at least a few people. A weekly landsraad mission to assault an enemy stronghold that gives a ton of contribution, scrip, and specialization xp, as well as schematics, melange, and other goodies from a loot room at the end. Stuff that's meant for a full party and doesn't scale by player count but is technically still doable solo if your gear and skill are up to scratch. Give me an excuse to play with my guildmates and flex my gear, if you're going to embrace the PVE RPG elements of the game you have to commit.

I want to do a bit of dungeon farming again but it's really annoying when a third of the spawns just can't be targeted by any of my abilities. Thankfully it hasn't happened to the boss itself yet but clearly that targeting "fix" in the patch notes wasn't tested enough because I NEVER had targeting issues pre-patch and now I'm getting them extremely frequently.
