Can someone recommend if i should switch to linux on my microsoft surface pro 7 plus which i mainly use for university. I just want to try something new i don‘t necessarily need to switch. I just read that it can improve battery live and maybe performance but i dont know if thats the case for the surface.

I have heard about lineage os through a friend of mine and it opens new doors as my iphone is slowly not getting support from apple. I'm looking for a smaller phone (about maximum 6'') which will be customizable and runs lineageos or even graphene os. Now i have no clue whether it is recommended to get old phones and expect them to run long with lineage but i really want something which lasts for a long time! Any ideas what i should get?
