Software capability AKA "Linux" on ps5 Slim

Hello,

Main question in last paragraph.

I am still new to "linux" been a tech nerd back in my teen age days but that isn't stopping me one way or another back then I was highly into PC's since 2019, I settled with what the market had vs what I wanted to play, a few months back got the rumor that PS was manageable with Linux, but old software versions is needed. I have had my steam deck oled for about 2 years now right before the inflation. and am over my ps5, getting greedy and know I could do more with ps5 slim hardware.

I am willing to sacrifice my ps5 slim to try and tinker with it, I have tried tinkering with old devises and laptops but each one of them are missing a piece if the puzzle, either graphics card or a lack of a quick hard drive.

My Ps5 slim is at a version of 13.60 which is far from required version, is there a way around that? before I fully invest in this, and permanently destroy my ps5 slim?

Thank's.

Rosalie’s Mupen64 controls stopped working after recent updates? Steam Deck OLED

Has anyone else been having controller issues with Rosalie’s Mupen64 on Steam Deck after the recent updates, or is it just me?
A few weeks ago everything worked perfectly. I originally launched all my ROMs through ES-DE, but I decided to experiment and switched over to launching everything directly through Steam using Steam ROM Manager. Most of my emulators continued working fine, including Ryujinx for Switch games, but Rosalie’s Mupen64 has been giving me nothing but headaches.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Verified the Steam Input controller order.
Reconfigured the controller inside Rosalie’s Mupen64.
Saved the controller profile.
Made sure SDL input is selected.
Tried different controller profiles.
Launched through both Game Mode and Desktop Mode.
Removed and re-added the ROM to Steam.
Restarted the emulator and Steam Deck multiple times.
The weird part is that every time I open Rosalie’s Mupen64, all of my controller bindings are still there exactly how I left them. Nothing resets or disappears, but in Game Mode the controls simply don’t respond.
Desktop Mode is a little different—I can sometimes get input there, but it feels inconsistent and isn’t really playable.
At this point I’m considering uninstalling and reinstalling Rosalie’s Mupen64 because I’m running out of ideas.
Has anyone else experienced this after the latest SteamOS or emulator updates? Or is it just me? I haven’t really played any N64 games for a few weeks, so I’m not sure exactly when this started.
