MR Mountain Ruck ??

Anyone here have a Mystery Ranch Mountain ruck or have used one? Looking for current feedback? I don’t need one. I mostly just want one because it reminds me of my ALICE pack. I have a new MR Metcalf 75 that’s possible going to become my wife’s if she decides to go with me next year trekking in Peru. Sooo my reasoning is that I’d need another pack and I may as well get what I really want if that’s the case 😂. I’m retired from the military so it won’t be getting used in the field or combat. Mostly for rucking and trekking trips overseas to fun and exciting locations. I do wish the three pouches on the back were removable but that I can work around. Thx. 🙏

If it ain’t raining, we ain’t training!

82 minutes for 5.25 miles in a torrential downpour. Again the GR Rucker 4.0 proves it’s pretty darn water resistant. Ruck plates not wet and neither are my keys, wallet or AirPod case. Most the way back was in off and on ankle high water where the sidewalk and roads were flooding. New OTB Piratas held up like a champ again. Water drained quickly and EVA didn’t suck up any of the water as advertised. That coupled with the 15.5 miles I did in them out of that box Saturday and the five miles I did yesterday in them. After 25 plus miles I’m definitely liking them immensely. No hot spots, no rubbing or blisters and they stayed very cool in 90deg weather during that 25k trail ruck race this past Saturday. Win win.

Panther City 25k

Rucked it with 38lbs dry (mystery ranch metcalf pack with their Ultra Light MT Frame). Neither my shoulders or traps got sore at all. I did screw up and forgot to restart the app when it paused itself after my first and second loops of the trail course and I took a break to get more H2O and some carbs. Hence the missing mile. Note to self. Don’t forget to restart the app when you start moving cuz Apple seems to wanna let it auto pause cuz if things I’m done if you stop moving for a few minutes 😆. Overall a great challenging trail course. Good amount of elevation gain. Was well put together by the race company and had no issues at all with the brand new OTB paratas. Brand new and they held up to a 25k ruck dang well. No blisters or rubbing at all. Ended up wearing a pair of GORuck merino compression socks. Kept my feet good and dry.

Range bag. GR1 or GR2?

Anyone who uses one as a range bag got thoughts on which might be better suited ? I’m thinking GR2 26L just due to thr amount of storage compartments, but I’m curious if anyone else uses one as a range bag. Looking to replace the 5.11 bag I’m currently using that was my work EDC before my M24 waxed canvas replaced it. My daughter is likely getting one of what I choose as well to use as her first range bag since she turns 21 in about 21 mins and gets her first EDC pistol tomorrow for her bday. Needs her own range bag now too 😂 🙌🏻🙏😍🥰

Makes a good light bag for early morning gym time. Plus can drop it on my back and do some tread mill hills or the track afterwards. Plus my keys and G43 fit in the storage pouch hung in the top of that bag on the anchor point. Win win. Freedom !!!

Mr coyote brown Rucker was feeling neglected since I got a new ruck a few weeks back that I’ve been breaking in. Took him out for a short ruck run.

Got about 500 miles on them now. Retired my other pair of boots and now working on wearing this pair out finally. Thinking of going lighter with the MACV1 High Speeds when this pair wears out later this summer.

Two weeks into using this and I’m definitely liking it a lot. Still use my GR Rucker 4.0 for shorter rucks, but for much longer rucks I’m liking not having it sitting directly on my shoulders for hours and hours.
