Would XACV S-I make this scene less chunky?

I like this shot i took with the fx3, but when looking at the scene it has a lot of details. the bricks, the leaves, the construction site, i shot it in XACV HS. When i look at the scene i see a bit of chunkyness / compression, would recording in XACV S-I have a better outcome?

I dont have a storage card which can capture All Intra at the moment and i am curious if its worth the investment.

Does the atomos ninja make the FX3 less digital sharp?

I LOVE the image of the Fx3, the highlight roll off, the shadows and the overall ‘big budget’ look. The only thing that is a bit bothering me, is when i shoot wide shots with a lot of detail, you can really see the sharpening happening. I guess it’s because of the internal NR happening, is shooting externally raw disabling this?

The FX6 doesn’t seem to have this digital crunch im currently seeing.

How future-proof is the FX3 compared to the current camera market?

Yesterday, the FX5 was announced with several new features that have become increasingly common in compact cameras over the past year, such as internal RAW recording, Dynamic Range Boost, improved autofocus, and faster sensor readout speeds.

I’ve been planning to buy the FX3 as my compact cinema camera for several months now, but there’s one thing holding me back. Will it limit me in the future (over the next few months or years) when it comes to attracting clients? I’m thinking about things like delivery requirements, supported codecs and file formats, image quality thanks to improved dynamic range, and so on. Or do you think the FX3 will remain a gold standard in the budget filmmaking industry?

The most important thing to me is having a reliable camera body. What I’ve noticed with other brands is that they all seem to have one major dealbreaker. The Panasonic S1II looks a bit too clinically sharp to my eye, RED’s ZR cameras produce RAW files that are simply too large for my workflow, and Blackmagic cameras have significant rolling shutter and no IBIS.

The FX3 is a major investment for me, and I want to get the absolute most out of my skills and creative vision. Would I actually benefit from something like a dual-gain output (DGO) sensor, or is the difference something that the average client simply won’t notice?

How do you see the FX3 in today’s market? My work mainly consists of music videos, dance films, commercial videos for businesses, and similar projects.

Just made a dance video to test the Pyxis AF + Rolling Shutter

Just tested my new Pyxis with the AF function, and it was insanely good. I think even better than my S5iix and S5. It was really reliable and never had an issues.

I used the AF-C and locked it in the middle of my screen.

It was my first time shooting handheld dance so the cinematography and lighting is not good, but we shot this in 1 hour.

Just made my first (very) short film - Using Lumix S5!

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to share my first short film I made, just filmed myself on different locations in the middle of nowhere. I just got my camera (s5) last week, and wanted to test my skills.

I learned a lot while filming this, especially about exposure.

Enjoy!

[Other] Is this color shift on the side coming from my ND or vintage lens?

Hello, I noticed in bright lights my image is causing blue/purple ish tints on the side. Is this an issue of my Canon fd lenses or my K&F VND filter? I have a low light comparison shot next to it.

Don't mind the horrible grade.

Fast question: Always record in open gate and crop afterwards?

Is this the go to way for best image quality? I noticed when recording in 6k aspect ratio 2.4:1 ‘crop’ that the quality was not something i liked… would recording in open gate make this better?

The reason for recording with 2.4:1 is the readout speed

My experience:

Jaw surgery is a journey, not a 6 week recovery period. When looking at recovery it was easy, the pain was actually not that bad but mostly uncomfortable.

Pre op i was very anxious, because of my heart health and scared it couldn’t handle this surgery. Also TMJ issues were a thing that scared me because they were unstable.

Feel free to ask questions, but please dont ask the surgeon name because i respect his privacy and he is part of a dutch healthcare only hospital in the netherlands :)
