Seeking roommate over 30 with good credit!
My 4 br apt has a room opening up Sept 1, year long lease through a mgmt company you'd have to pass a credit check or have a guarantor. Ideally I find someone thats a friend of a friend!
THE BUILDING- 4 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms
RENT- $1,188 bills are $100-200 depending on using the Heat or AC (its central)
THE ROOM- 7x17 with a 2.5ft closet, 2 big windows facing the street.
ACCESIBILITY- the apt is ground floor but there are 8 steps to get into the building.
TRAINS- 0.3 miles to the J Gates stop or 0.8 miles to the L, M myrtle Wyckoff stop
COMMON AREAS- We have high ceilings and a nice open floor plan with the living room/kitchen connected, brand new stove. The living room has a video projector and sound system.
We also have backyard access with a garden, fire pit, grill and a bench swing!
The basement has a workout room and secondary living room. There may be storage options but store at your own (flood) risk. I have a sewing/crafting/drag studio and I like sharing the space with other creatives.
ABOUT ME- I’m a 44vr old trans masc performer, stagehand and theater tech. I’ve lived in this apt 5 yrs, I handle all the bills and Expendables. I usually deal with the landlord, MGMT company and super too. I try and wrangle roomies for meetings and chores. Communication is really important to me. I throw monthly movie nights and or BBQs for my queer nightlife friends, it doesn’t get too rowdy and we usually go till about midnight.
OTHER ROOMATES- The other roommates are Manny and Dustin who are very chill dudes, we all enjoy watching TVs and movies together, cooking and gardening.
PETS- We have 2 cats, Artemis and Bambi so we are looking for a roommate without dogs or cats.
IDEAL ROOMATE- preferably someone over 30 who has experience living with multiple roommates in NYC. Consistency with paying rent and bills on time and communication around house stuff is essential. The building is run by a Management Company and they will approve tenants with good credit, proof of income and/or a guarantor. In my experience living here, they like tenants with guarantors.
