Does anyone else feel physically exhausted but mentally unable to fully slow down at night?

I’ve been working on a melatonin-free nighttime support formula because I kept noticing how many people complain about things like next-day grogginess, vivid dreams, or feeling too dependent on heavy sleep aids.

The idea was to create something gentler and more sustainable for people who are mentally tired but still struggle to fully slow down at night.

I’d genuinely love honest feedback from people here who actually use sleep supplements regularly:

• What makes you trust or distrust a sleep product?

• What ingredients do you personally look for?

• What instantly turns you away from a brand/product page?

• Do you personally prefer stronger “knockout” effects or gentler long-term support?

Still trying to improve everything before scaling further and would honestly appreciate real feedback from experienced supplement users.

Happy to share the site/product page as well if anyone wants to review the branding or messaging more closely.

For the longest time I kept trying to force myself to sleep — laying in bed for hours, checking the time, getting frustrated, feeling my body exhausted but my mind just wouldn’t shut off. It felt like the more I tried, the worse it got.

What finally helped me wasn’t some magic fix, but changing how I approached sleep completely. Instead of “trying to sleep”, I focused on calming my system before bed — dim lights earlier, no stimulation late at night, slower breathing, and just accepting that sleep comes when it comes.

Also realized that anything that made me feel “knocked out” (like melatonin) didn’t actually help long term, it just made mornings worse for me. What worked better was supporting relaxation instead of forcing sleep.

It didn’t fix overnight, but within a few days I noticed my body started trusting sleep again.

Curious if anyone else experienced that “tired but wired” feeling and what actually helped you?
