2023 Audi Q5 Reliability Canada

Looking at buying a 2023 Audi Q5 Progressiv 45 TFSI quattro (Canada).
Clean CARFAX
48,000 km
Audi Certified Pre-Owned
Warranty until 2029 or 160,000 km
I plan to keep it for 7–8 years. A few questions:
How reliable has your 2023 Q5 been?
Have you experienced any common issues or expensive repairs?
Are there any known problems with the EA888 engine or 7-speed S tronic transmission?
How is the long-term reliability once the warranty expires?
Is 48,000 km considered high for a 2023 model?
If you were in my position, would you buy this Q5 or choose a BMW X3 instead?
Does it have multi color ambient lighting
Anything specific I should inspect or ask the dealer before buying?

2023 Audi Q5 Progressiv S-Line (Black Optic) - Certified Pre-Owned (Canada)

Hey everyone,

I am finalizing a deal on a 2023 Audi Q5 Progressiv S-Line with the Package Noir (Black Optic) here in Canada, and I would love some feedback on the numbers and the vehicle itself before I sign the final paperwork.

The Vehicle Details:

Mileage: Currently sitting around 48,000 km.

History: Single-owner lease, completely clean CARFAX (no accidents/damage). Every single service milestone was completed exactly on time at the same local Audi dealership. The 45,000 km service and brake fluid flush are already done. Total of 11 service records at Audi dealer since May 2023

Specs: Loaded up with the S-Line sport package, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, Virtual Cockpit, heated steering wheel, navigation, and wireless CarPlay.

The Deal Structure:

Vehicle Base Price: $39,000 CAD

Warranty: The contract explicitly lists the Audi Certified :plus Extended Warranty included until May 26, 2029, or 160,000 km for $0 extra.

Financing: 3.49% APR for 48 months. (Vehicle plus warranty) - Zero down payment

Monthly Payment: $916.55 CAD (Total financed amount is $41,006.23 after 5% QC GST, registration, etc.). I will pay the remaining 10% provincial tax when I register it at home in New Brunswick.

The salesperson mentioned that they will repair any minor scratches or dents, perform the official Audi CPO 300+ point inspection, and detail it so it leaves "like new."

My questions for the community -

  1. How is the pricing? For a 2023 Q5 Progressiv S-Line with 48k km and the 2029 CPO warranty fully included for $39,000 CAD, does this look like a solid deal in the current market?
  2. Is 3.49% a good rate right now? It feels pretty low compared to current standard used car rates, but want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
  3. The 60,000 km Service: Since the car has 48k km, I know the major 60k service (S-tronic transmission fluid flush and spark plugs) is coming up in about 12,000 km. Should I push the dealer to do this early for free before delivery, or just ask them to discount an Audi Care prepaid maintenance package?
  4. Warranty vs. Independent Mechanic: To keep the Certified :plus warranty active until 2029, do I absolutely have to service the car at an Audi dealership, or am I safe using a certified independent Euro mechanic as long as I keep every single receipt?
  5. Long-Term Reliability: I plan to keep this car for the next 7 to 8 years (taking it to roughly 130,000–150,000 km). Are there any major mechanical landmines I should prepare for with the 2023 2.0T engine or the S-tronic transmission once it gets older?
  6. Delivery Day Tips: What should I double-check on the official paperwork and the car physical body before driving off the lot to make sure they actually fulfilled their verbal promises?
  7. Audi Care vs. Warranty Breakdown: Can someone explain exactly what the Audi Care prepaid maintenance package covers versus what my included Certified :plus warranty covers? If I add Audi Care to cover the upcoming 60k km transmission flush and spark plugs, what is a fair price to pay the dealer for it in Canada right now?
  8. What should I ask the salesman right now? I want to keep this guy completely honest before I sign the final contract. What specific, hard questions should I ask him about the inspection report, the car's current wear-and-tear measurements, and the exact service they are performing before delivery?

Beginner Investor in Canada

I’m a relatively new investor and would appreciate some guidance on optimizing my portfolio for long-term growth.

Here’s my current financial situation:

Age: 29 years old
Annual Salary: CAD $70,000
Debt: None
Emergency Savings: CAD $15,000
Investments:
CAD $49,500 in VEQT within my TFSA (lump sum) -Average price $56 CAD
CAD $5,000 in VFV in a cash/unregistered account - Average price $180 CAD

My primary objective is to maximize long-term returns while maintaining a sensible investment strategy.

Given my current portfolio and financial position, what additional steps would you recommend? Should I consider diversifying further, increasing exposure to U.S. equities, contributing to an RRSP, or exploring other investment options?

I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions.
Thank you in advance.
