Looking for friends for my 30M partner!

Hey everyone, posting on behalf of my partner as he’s new to Reddit and can’t post here yet.

We’ve recently moved to Edinburgh from NZ and he’s keen to meet some new people locally.

He’s 30 and into things like pubs, walks, photography, sports, and history. He’s already had some luck meeting people through groups, but he would enjoy meeting some more easygoing people to grab a pint, go for a walk, or try some local food spots with.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, send me a message and I’ll put you in touch! ☺️

As the title says. My poor partner is absolutely agonising over a role that he was verbally offered 3 weeks ago. We are very new to this process, and everyone with their traditional wisdom is saying not to get your hopes up until you've signed a contract. What are the odds things fall apart now? He has good references and no background issues.

They have been in touch and said that they had an internal meeting to sign things off and will get back to him with start dates and ask for paperwork. We haven't heard anything since this a few days ago.

It's probably fine, but he's been through a really rough job hunt so the idea of it falling through is too much to handle right now. Anyone have an advice?

Thank you!
