The whole “just be yourself” saying is bs and I’m tired of pretending it’s not

Im not “red pill” guy but I hate when people tell me”just be yourself” quite literally I don’t want to be myself I want to improve myself not settle on mediocrity or being less, we should be promoting improvement of one self rather than being ok with who we are since we can always be better.

What are some of the strongest arguments against theism?

In my opinion as a thomist Roman Catholic I can’t really think of one good argument against theism, I have had a few arguments such as animal suffering, inconsistent revelation and divine hiddenness that have left me wondering but none have genuinely made me question existence of a deity especially the Christian god.

Should Christian date non believers?

I’m coming from a roman catholic thomist background and i personal believe i as a person who takes his beliefs very seriously should not be with people who have a different religion than me. Doesn’t matter if they’re Buddhist, atheist, agnostics,Muslim or whatever else I don’t think I should be with someone who I know I could never spend eternity with even if there my “perfect match” in every other way. Even the early church fathers agree that we as followers of the faith should not be with any unequal yokes, I’d probably even go as far to say that I should really revaluate my faith if I were to even give it any thought.

Side note no I don’t have a problem with atheism or any other religious belief despite the fact I very much disagree with them for a multitude of reasons.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it difficult to date as a religious person?

So I (20M) happen to be a practicing Catholic and while I’m religious in the sense that I bring it up in casual conversation I do take my faith pretty seriously I must say so. But I have found it difficult for me to date people due to my beliefs as a Catholic since the majority of dating culture just feels lifeless and just about hooking up

I dislike being religious…

Forgive me if my writing isn’t the best this is my first post

For some context I am a practicing Roman catholic, I converted to Catholicism back when I was 18 now I’m 21 before I converted I was an atheist. I wont go into too much detail on my conversion since I don’t think it’s really important to talk about.

I have a multitude of reasons why I dislike being religious the main being how my parents treat me now that I’m catholic. My parents were never religious and never taught me about religion or god so when I converted they weren’t kinda surprised they don’t hate my belief they just don’t understand it nor do they wish to. My mom especially isn’t very fond of my belief saying I act more like a monk now and dislike that I’m only really interested in stuff like theology, philosophy and the history of the church often calling me a fanatic. And it’s not because I don’t do anything else or I’m a bum I have a part time job and I’m currently enrolled in college.

The second reason I dislike about being religious is the fact that most people from where I live aren’t too fond of Catholicism or Christianity in general. Which makes it hard for me to befriend or date people since the majority of things I’m into outside of religion are filled with people who aren’t fond of my beliefs. It also doesn’t help that there aren’t really people in my parish who are my age the majority of the people are either old people or kids.

The final reasons i dislike being religious is the stigma i get for being catholic that i hate certain groups of people which i find baffling that people just assume things about me just because of my faith. Especially when it comes to politics since while i do share some conservative political views i like to consider myself more apolitical to stuff that does not involve the catholic faith since i don’t like any party and don’t vote not because i don’t understand politics. But I just don’t trust political figures in general.

Side note this post isn’t me saying that I want to leave my faith or I’m losing faith it’s just me venting about things I dislike that come with being religious.
