RWU Mechatronics (Winter 2026) – Admitted Students & Current Students, How Has Your Experience Been?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been admitted to the M.Sc. in Mechatronics at RWU (Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences) for Winter Semester 2026, and I’d love to hear from current students or alumni about their experience.

I’m particularly interested in:

- Quality of education and teaching
- Professors and labs
- Internship and job opportunities
- Student life and international community
- Accommodation and cost of living
- Public transport

Overall experience and anything you wish you had known before joining

Also, if anyone else has been admitted to the same program for Winter 2026, feel free to comment.

Is an APS certificate issued before graduation accepted for the German student visa?

My APS certificate was issued while I was still in my bachelor's program (after the 7th semester). Since then, I've completed my degree and now have my provisional degree certificate and final transcript.

I'm trying to understand whether the APS certificate issued before graduation is sufficient for the German student visa, or whether applicants are expected to obtain a new one after completing their degree.

If anyone has personally received a German student visa with an APS certificate that was issued before graduation, I'd appreciate it if you could share your experience and whether the existing APS certificate was accepted.

Looking for a Chrome-like browser that still supports the full uBlock Origin

I’ve been using Chrome for years and I’m pretty invested in the Google ecosystem (password manager, bookmarks, history, extensions, etc.).

The only reason I’m considering switching is that Chrome no longer supports the original uBlock Origin.

Requirements:

- Feels as close to Chrome as possible.
- Supports the full uBlock Origin (not uBlock Origin Lite).
- Gets regular security updates.
- Lets me keep using my Google account/workflow (or at least makes migration painless).
- Can import my Chrome data without much hassle.
Works well on both Windows and Android.

I’m not looking for lots of extra features or customization.

I basically want “Chrome, but with support for the original uBlock Origin.”

What would you recommend, and why?

TU Dortmund application still shows “Received” after almost 2 months – is this normal?

Hi everyone,
I have applied for the M.Sc. Automation and Robotics program at TU Dortmund University for the Winter Semester 2026/27 as a non-EU applicant.

I was wondering how the application process usually progresses for this program. My portal currently shows:

Application status: In progress
Application Subject Status: Received (since 6 May 2026)

For those who applied in previous winter semesters, how long did your application remain at the “Received” stage?

Did the portal status change before you received a decision, or did you receive the admission/rejection directly?

I’m mainly interested in understanding the typical timeline and what previous applicants experienced.
Thanks!

TU Dortmund application still shows "Received" after almost 2 months – is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I applied for the M.Sc. Automation and Robotics program at TU Dortmund University as a non-EU applicant.

My application portal currently shows:

  • Application status: In progress
  • Application Subject Status: Received

The status changed to "Received" on 6 May 2026, and there has been no update since then.

I know German universities can take time, but I wanted to ask applicants from previous years:

  • Did your application also stay at "Received" for a long time?
  • Did the status change before you received an admission or rejection, or did you receive the decision directly?
  • Around what time did you receive your admission decision?

I'm mainly trying to understand whether this timeline is normal for TU Dortmund or if I should contact the admissions office.

Thanks in advance!

Future Plans in German Student Visa Motivation Letter – What Is the Best Approach?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing my German student visa motivation letter and I’m confused about the future plans section.

I’ve read quite a few Reddit posts on this topic, but the advice seems contradictory. Some people say you should clearly state that you will return to your home country after graduation. Others say it’s fine to mention working in Germany after completing your studies. Some suggest avoiding the topic of location altogether and focusing only on career goals.

So what is actually the best approach?

Should I:

• Explicitly state that I plan to return to India after graduation?

• Mention that I may work in Germany if opportunities are available?

• Focus only on my long-term career goals without discussing where I plan to work?

For those who have successfully obtained a German student visa, what did you write in your motivation letter? If you’re comfortable sharing, could you also share how you structured your future plans section?
Thanks.

[India] Is a provisional degree certificate accepted for the student visa? (Winter 26)

I know not everyone in this subreddit is from India, but since there are quite a few of us here, I wanted to ask a quick question specific to the Indian visa process.

I intend to go to Germany for masters in winter 2026. My bachelors university convocation isn't until December, so when I go for my visa appointment, I won't have my final original degree certificate yet. I will only have my Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) and all my semester mark sheets.

For those who have gone through VFS/the German Embassy in India recently:

Do they smoothly accept a provisional degree certificate for the student visa processing, or does it cause any roadblocks?

Thanks for any insight!

Caught a clip of the new "Bluffmaster Gujjubhai" on YT and realized it's literally an old classic remade! 🤯

Hey everyone,

I was scrolling through YouTube today and came across a clip of Siddharth Randeria’s Bluffmaster Gujjubhai. As I was watching it, I got this massive wave of déjà vu. I kept thinking, "Wait... I know these exact jokes and this setup."

Then it hit me. It is the exact same plot as his old hit Sacha Bola Jhootalal (2009) which I watched on YouTube a while back! I tried searching all over the internet to see if anyone else talked about this, but I couldn't find a single mention stating that it's a remake—so I wanted to post this here to help out anyone else scratching their head over the similarity.

If you look at both, the formula is identical:

  1. The husband spins a massive web of lies to get money out of his rich in-laws.
  2. A random girl barges into the house, creates a giant misunderstanding, and kisses him right in front of his wife.
  3. To cover up the chaos, he tells his wife the ultimate absurd lie—that he's actually an undercover secret agent.
  4. The lie spirals completely out of control.

It looks like they took the brilliant script of Sacha Bola Jhootalal, polished it up with some fresh gags, and rebranded it under the massive "Gujjubhai" banner for the stage.

Honestly, I'm not even mad. Siddharth Randeria’s comic timing is so unmatched that he could sell me the exact same story three times over and I'd still sit there laughing my head off.

Has anyone else stumbled onto clips of the new show and noticed this? Are there any other classic nataks you know of that got rebranded like this?

KIT Master’s Application — Apply Early Without Provisional Certificate or Wait?

Applying to the Master’s program at KIT as an international student. The application window just opened on 15 May and closes on 15 July.

I currently have APS, IELTS, transcripts till 7th semester, proof of enrollment, and proof of expected graduation date. My final result will be declared around the end of May, but the provisional certificate may only be available in June/early July.

My concern is:

  • Does KIT process applications on a rolling basis / first come first serve?
  • Is it better to apply now with pending documents and submit the provisional later?
  • Or should I wait until I receive the provisional certificate before applying?

Did anyone here apply to KIT without the provisional/final degree certificate initially? What happened in your case?
