Switch from insulin to mounjaro.

I’m being switched from a mixed insulin it’s a mix of 70%long acting & 30%fast acting, which I take twice a day when I wake up and usually just before dinner.

They’re finally going to put me on mounjaro instead. Which means I will be stopping insulin completely.

Anyone who’s done a similar thing how did you find the transition?

Did you find you could eat more or less carbs? Did you feel unwell? Curious to know how this will affect me.

For the most part I’m still pretty low carb as it’s a relatively low dose of fast acting. Because it’s mixed you have to keep the dose steady and not tailor it to meals. I’m most insulin resistant in the morning so cannot eat many carbs then anyway, it mainly counteracted the dawn phenomenon. For lunch I don’t take a dose so eat relatively low carb again, it’s mainly dinner that will be impacted as the dose before dinner allowed a bit more flexibility on carbs followed by a mini ice cream most days.

I’m too old for the pod

Because when did it stop being
‘Cheesecake factory ass nails’
And became ‘cheesecake factory ahh nails’.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it because it sounds so much less natural, was it always this way? but I just heard ass instead of ahh. She just did it about 50 times more in the new ep.

This pod has left my millennial ahhh behind.

This is obviously a joke, although I do actually hate it. I thought this sub could do with a little break from drug addiction talk

Genuine question for type 1s

This is a genuine question, not rage bait, not to incite any further hate surrounding type 1 v 2. I see this sort of thing DAILY on my algorithm. Is this genuinely reality for type 1s? Are type 2s plural, regularly (not just the odd moron you would have in any community) actually putting down type 1s and saying it’s easy? Because I never see it.

I personally think it’s non diabetics who spread this sentiment, not type 2s. This includes healthcare providers.

The comments on these videos are always vile. We did it to ourselves because we’re fat lazy slobs blah blah blah. The content I see from type 2 creators is them defending themselves from hate, spreading clear awareness and education on type 2 specifically or highlighting differences, nothing is at the expense of type 1.

(Do not send hate to this person btw they’re clearly burnt out and tired)

For reference in case it matters to anyone I am a 35 year old type 2, not fat just average , PCOS, I am insulin dependent but still also eat low carb due to extreme insulin resistance. I am currently struggling with fluctuating highs and hypos in the heatwave. And finally, I don’t think I have it easier than type 1s in any way, I’m just existing with the disease.

Mystery bumps

He is completely fine in himself but the bumps have appeared over the day on his head and a few in his body and he’s been scratching a lot. Took him through the fields in his walk but no long grass or hedges. I think it’s flea bites as he recently stayed with his grandparents who have a lot of
Foxes in their garden. Mayby it looks a little scarier as he has such sensitive skin ?

Anyway a trip to the vet tomorrow but I wondered if this was something others have seen with their whips?
