The Page’s atonal Carini lick. It’s clear as day and two months before Carini exists. Were they working on it in rehearsals and Page quoted it before its live debut? Was it an improvised lick that caught their ear and led to including it in the song?

Any thoughts? Any other concrete moments where an improvised section becomes the composed section of a new song? Or possibly Phish quoting material they haven’t played live yet?
