(USA) Miscommunication

So me and my roommate are having to move out by the end of the month but a few days ago she made it seem like they actually wanted us to move out by this Friday and do an inspection as we move. So I talked to my boss and said that so she helped me get the day off. But I just got home a few hours ago and found out that it's just an inspection we aren't actually moving out this Friday we are weeks from now. Do I tell my boss that we aren't actually moving out this Friday or keep my mouth shut. (My roommate doesn't speak English very well, I can usually understand but this time it seems like I didn't)

Just a few questions

I'm gonna be honest I'm not Jewish and was never raised Jewish. I just have some questions. You really don't have to answer. Also I'm sorry if these are worded weirdly I went over them multiple times I really am sorry I have disabilities.

  1. I have never met a Jewish person but if I do how am I able to help them be comfortable around me.(Because of history it's hard to trust anyone)

  2. Are there recipes that are okay for people who aren't Jewish to make?.

  3. I own a copy of The Diary of Anne Frank, are there other books I could read to get a better understanding of the Jewish religion. ( I know it's not your job to teach me)

Again I really am sorry if the questions sound weird. That's just how my brain put them. Also again you don't have to answer.

Roomates electricity usage

So I live with an older woman I'm renting from her. She leaves lights on constantly. She leaves her bathroom light on all night even though I gave her a nightlight to use. She still keeps it on all night it's probably on right now. On weekdays I always wake up around 5am so when she goes to work I can instantly turn off the kitchen light she keeps on even though I'm still asleep and her animals are in her room. I've seen one power bill that was $1000 I don't know if it's also late fees or if that's just how much insane electricity she uses. In my last apartment I have never paid more than $40 in electricity. How can I talk to her into using less electricity. I'm not paying the bill now but we're about to move into a new place and she asked me to put the bills in her name I can't afford $1000. I can barely afford the now $700 in rent I'll be paying.
