I just got a Nest Mini (Gen 1) from a cousin. I live in a dorm and don’t currently have a dedicated Wi-Fi connection. I do have an iPhone and an iPad.
I’m trying to get the Nest Mini working, even if only temporarily, using my iPhone’s hotspot. I tried setting it up through the Google Home app on my iPad while connected to the iPhone hotspot, but the Nest Mini wouldn’t connect.
I also tried using a friend’s Android phone as
the hotspot, completed the setup, and then changed my iPhone hotspot’s SSID and password to match the Android hotspot exactly. Unfortunately, the Nest Mini still wouldn’t connect.
Has anyone managed to get a Nest Mini
working with just an iPhone hotspot, or found another workaround for situations like this? Even a temporary solution would be great. Thanks!
