it appeared randomly in the wild, I can't believe it! I was so unlucky today with not being able to catch a Pheromosa after a raid, I never thought this would happen today. one of my all time favourite shinies!

first time shiny hunter here! I want to catch a shiny Venonat before finishing the story so I can actually play the game with it, instead of catching it after the end and just storing it in my box.
I looked into it a bit and learned about catch combos and lures, so I did the 31+ catch combo and used a lure on the route just above cerulean city. so far it's been 5 hours of basically just standing there, occasionally running from encounters and a lot of staring xD
so I was wondering if that's the best option available to me right now, or if anyone could recommend me a better way?
I know it takes time because it's just random luck, so I'm not impatient, I just need to know I'm not doing something wrong and wasting my time by making some stupid mistake^^
also, how long did it take you to get a shiny Venonat?
