Salam,
I am a revert for a couple years now, Alhamdulliah. For my first couple years, I went on a great journey to learn and life was great.
As time went on, I now work long hours and have children and find I have stopped growing Islamically and have become stagnant.
I agree however, I still do have time at nights and weekend nights and there is no excuse, this is pure laziness from my end.
Long story short, I will like to continue to grow and learn. I’m not looking at becoming the next scholar but just learning and growing to pass knowledge on my children Inshallah.
I have always struggled with this one component specifically with all the schools of thought, information available and mixing information. For context I live in the west and at this stage, a physical teacher is not going to be possible as I need to be present for my family.
I feel like some online lectures would be incredible for me, does anyone have any recommendations? I am happy to pay if a platform is recommended.
For context, I live in the west (Australia) so prefer work at my own pace.
Thank you!
Hi All,
After weighing pro’s and cons, it appears that this option is best for me (2% deposit scheme).
For those who have done it before, do you recommend going through a Broker or straight through the website?
Also what are the pros and cons
Salam Alaikum,
For the first 1-2 years, I was on an incredible journey , I was seeking knowledge, trying to memorise Surahs Always listening to Islamic lectures and podcasts.
I did however struggle as I live in Australia, am isolated, and had no guidance so I never know what information is correct.
Fast forward to date, over the last 1-2 years I’ve noticed my journey has significantly slowed down. I do the bare minimum which is pray 5 times a day and the pillars but I have no motivation to seek knowledge or learn.
It really hurts me, I haven’t learned anything new in years and am stuck with all my knowledge gained on my first 1-2 years.
Recently, I’ve taken a promotion at work and really struggle, I’m the only Muslim in the company nobody understands my believes and needs (not shaking hands, the whole Shabam) and I’m really struggling to work in a western workplace and struggling with my personal imam drop.
Can anyone recommend:
- Advice on online learning in Islam for beginners for me to continue my journey
- ways for me to overcome my struggles
Thank you!
Just moved to Perth and have my toddler with me.
Just looking for any recommendations to explore today that are weather friendly? I have no problem driving over an hour.
Also, ones that aren’t weather friendly also welcome as I can do this another day.
For context no alcohol related suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!
