Am I understanding correctly that for solar charging a power station such as an Anker Solix C2000 you can safely go over the amperage limit but not the voltage limit?

I am looking to replace my gas generator with a power station and am considering the Anker Solix C2000 among others. It has a single solar input with an 800W max with limits of:

  • @ 11V-28V limit to 8.2A
  • @ 28V-90V limit to 17A

C2000 User guide - FAQ #2

I am wanting to avoid 2 Anker foldable solar panels at $700 x 2. So I am looking at other brands like this two pack of 320W Renogy panels. I am assuming that most panels sold in pairs list the specs per panel. So, if I run them in parallel as required the voltage stays the same but the amperage doubles. In this example the amperage would be 17.84. Other brands I have looked at vary widely.

Is this safe for the power station? Do I risk any damage? How far over can you safely go?

I have an old Craftsman/Husqvarna lawn tractor with a 19hp Briggs. It apparently was going through oil much faster than I thought and I neglected to check it.

While mowing, the enging made a bang and stopped. From there when I tried to start it, I just get a clunk and nothing. I thought maybe it was seized. But I was able to move the flyweheel by hand about a full rotation and it would hit the same hard thing both directions. So based on some online suggestions I removed the spark plug, shot in some PB Blaster, drained the oil and let it sit.

By the next day I had to charge the battery - not sure why that happened. But after some back and forth I was able to get it so spin freely by hand. So I put it back together and filled the oil. It cranked for about 5-8 seconds and again hit something hard and stopped. Same symptoms as the previous day.

I am assuming something inside has broken. Piston maybe? I am handy and don't mind trying to fix it but just never worked on small engines beyond cleaning or replacing a carb. I have never taken the actual engine apart.

Thoughts?
