Yeah Luffy’s timer ran out but he still knocked out Kizaru while in gear 5, establishing that he’s comfortably above Kizaru in that form, even when you look into their fight, it’s clear Kizaru isn’t a match for gear 5 and can only use his speed to avoid Luffy in close quarters, whereas Kaido was a match for gear 5 and forced Luffy to pull out the Bajrang Gun which is the strongest gear 5 attack we’ve seen to date
To sum it up, Luffy while in gear 5 is slightly stronger than Kaido but they’re still extremely relative combat wise, but Kizaru can’t keep up at all
Current Elbaf Luffy (strongest he’s ever been) > Wano/Egghead Luffy > Kaido >> Kizaru
A serious Luffy was toying with Kizaru and Saturn in a 1v2 and defeated Kaido in the previous arc which people are also in denial of. When will people just accept Luffy is one of the strongest characters in history whilst in gear 5, if any other character had Luffy’s feats like defeating Kaido or bullying an admiral and a gorosei in a 1v2, they would’ve been undisputed top 1 behind Imu
Losing to gear 5 doesn’t put Kaido below Roger/WB/Shanks etc, gear 5 is just that strong
