Did your relative consume a lot of canned food or canned drinks before developing Alzheimer’s?

I’m interested in hearing people’s personal experiences. Did your relative regularly eat a lot of tinned/canned food or drink frequently from aluminium cans throughout their life before developing Alzheimer’s disease or significant memory loss?

I’ve been researching the possible relationship between aluminium exposure and Alzheimer’s, and I’m curious whether anyone has noticed a pattern in their own family.

Did anyone experience anything spiritual or supernatural on the maternity ward?

I'm really curious to hear from women who have given birth in hospital — especially on a maternity ward. Did you experience anything that felt spiritual, supernatural, or difficult to explain during labour, an induction, epidural, C-section, or immediately after giving birth?

Home Birth & Newborn Jaundice

Home Birth & Newborn Jaundice I’m curious to hear from mothers who had a planned home birth. Did your baby develop newborn jaundice after being born at home? If so: How many days old was your baby when you first noticed it? Was it mild jaundice that resolved on its own, or did your baby need phototherapy? Did a midwife check bilirubin levels at home, or did you have to go into hospital? Was your baby exclusively breastfed? Were there any other factors that might have contributed? I’m trying to understand how common jaundice is following home births compared with hospital births, and whether the hospital environment itself has any influence on it. I’d especially love to hear real experiences from mothers who had home births, rather than just statistics.

Question for parents who gave birth in a French maternity hospital: I'm trying to understand other parents' experiences with newborn blood tests in France.

Question for parents who gave birth in a French maternity hospital:

I'm trying to understand other parents' experiences with newborn blood tests in France.

  • Did the midwives take a blood sample from your newborn's hand using a catheter or cannula?
  • Were you asked for your consent beforehand?
  • Did you watch the procedure, or was it done while you were out of the room?
  • Did they get the blood on the first attempt, or did they need multiple attempts (e.g. 2–3 tries)?
  • Were there any bruises, puncture marks, or other marks left on your baby's hand afterwards?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience and which hospital you gave birth in, if you're comfortable sharing. Thank you.

Questions for mothers who gave birth in France, especially if you were induced.

Questions for mothers who gave birth in France, especially if you were induced.

I'm trying to understand other mothers' experiences and would really appreciate your answers.

  • If you were induced and had an epidural, roughly how many hours into your labour did you receive it? Do you remember what time it was, or whether you noticed a clock?
  • After your baby was born, were you encouraged by the midwives to give a combination of formula and breast milk, or were you supported to exclusively breastfeed?
  • If your baby developed jaundice, how long after birth did it become noticeable or was it diagnosed? If your baby had phototherapy, how soon after birth did this begin?
  • Do you remember the midwives coming into your room overnight to do repeated heel prick blood tests on your baby's feet? If so, how many times did they come, and did they explain what the tests were for?
  • For mothers who had a planned home birth in France, did your baby develop jaundice? If so, how was it managed, and did your baby need to go into hospital for treatment?

I'm interested in hearing about experiences from maternity hospitals and home births across France. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
