How amusing. How delightfully droll

Saw A Little Night Music at the Marriott Theatre right outside of Chicago! Such a brilliant production of a nearly perfect show. Every actor was wonderful (especially Petra and Frederick), and the way the production team utilized "theatre in the round" was so unique. If you're in Chicago, you should definitely see this!

Portrait of a Lady on Fire made me cry

Holy shit, that was an emotional gut punch of a movie. Of course, the ending got me. Even though Héloïse did not see Marianne, we obviously know that she's thinking about her, and that's heartbreaking. But what got me even more is the lat time they both see waxh other, where Héloïse tells Marianne to "turn around" and it's Héloïse in her wedding dress. The thing both were dreading throughout the film is the final image both had of each other for a long time. It's so dam tragic. An utter masterpiece and new favorite of mine.

Happy (or in this case sad) pride 🏳️‍🌈

Obsession has been out for over a month. It's so strange to see how much has changed

In the past month, this little indie horror flik made by kids for under a million bucks and that was basically only known to regular theatre attendees and horror fans has become a bona-fide cultural phenomenon and an Oscar contender. Inde Navarrette is on the verge of superstardom, Michael Johnston has been singed to a major talent agency, and Curry Barker is the most wanted young filmmaker in Hollywood. And it has garnered so many fan therioes that I can't count. All of this in a mere 30 days or so. We are so back

Inde Navarrette Oscar nomination or there is no justice in the world

Holy shit, I have never seen a performance like that. Perfectly acting "crazy" and "normal" while we sitill feeling the utmost sadness for her? Wow. Sure, Sissy Spacek did some of that in Carrie (and was absolutely wonderful in that movie), but the difference is that Carrie was not a "normal" person. She was born with superpowers. Nikki is the definition of "normal," and that's what's so tragic and so good about Indes' performance. Her future "craziness" is the fault of Bear, but you wouldn't guess that because how deranged freaky Nikki gets, and Inde makes it seems that SHE is the one who's obsessed, NOT Bear, who's actually obsessed. The best performance of this type since Natalie Portman in Black Swan, or even as far as Kim Novak in Vertigo. Unbelievable

Was Dave Hurwitz a "known name" in the classical music world before the YouTube channel?

I'm a relative newbie to classical music, so I've always known who he was. But for those who have known about the classical music world for a long time, was Hurwitz a name before YouTube?

Does Septimus in Mrs. Dalloway know where he is/what's going on?

I first want to say that I adore this book, so this is more confusion than criticism, but I don't know if Septimus knows where he is or what's going on.

I know that he suffers from PTSD, so his world view is vastly different from mine, but I still get glimpses of him recognizing his surroundings, for example, he mentions "Holmes homes", so he obviously knows that there is someone named Holmes in his life. But basically, every thought he has relates to the war, and he doesn't even see Holmes as a doctor, more so, "human nature." So, do you think that he has at least some perception of what's currently going on or not?

Am I the only who finds Pet Sounds a bit distressing and ominous?

There are the obvious sad songs (Caroline, No, I Just Wasn't Made For These Times), but even the happier sounding songs give a sense of dread, like everything in thr albums world is about to collapse (especially in God Only Knows). Has anybody else had these feelings?

Did all the screwing around that was being described on Rumours happen DURING the recording time period or before?

I still have no clear vision about this. I'm not sure anybody does
