I wanted to start collecting Peanuts now that my Calvin and Hobbes collection is near completion, but I guess my folks skipped the hassle and sent me the complete collection for my birthday.
Now I’ve got to think about what to collect next…
My grandfather got the doll for me from a Goodwill because he knows I’m quite the Beetle Bailey fan.
I’ve been trying to get my hands on more collections, but this is all I’ve found. At Ease was in a box of other books in the storage of my childhood home (including a For Better or For Worse collection) and the other two were purchased online. They’re the only ones we were able to find at the time, but this was a while ago.
I also collect Calvin and Hobbes collections (as seen in the doll photo) and Garfield. I want to start collecting for Peanuts as well but I’m open to all sorts of strip comics.
I’m in college, but back at home I have a two 80’s era Garfields that were my mother’s and many more books. I’m intending on bringing them back with me once I go on Thanksgiving break.
Topper Elementary’s Finest, Acorn Salts, Clay Diggsly, and Mack Hoofly!
I found this place and thought you might like to see the current official art of three of my autistic characters. Specifically from the children’s books I’m working on (2nd draft of Acorn’s debut is on its way!).
Acorn the horse loves nature, specifically plants and insects. He’s a bit hesitant about new things and struggles to form friendships, but when he does, he’s true blue through and through. He’s best friends with his neighbors, fun-loving Duke the dog and bookish Jim the hog as well as classmates Clay and Mack. Acorn doesn’t always understand the world, but he understands enough to appreciate what he does.
Clay the badger loves dinosaurs and dirt! He also loves to talk and chew on things, habits that often get him into a bit of trouble. He’s a bit on the emotional side, but a lot of it is because of his love for his friends. He’s a born people pleaser and loves to both laugh and make people laugh. Clay’s good nature and stick-to-itivness are his greatest assets, and he’s glad to share them with the world.
Mack the moose may look unassuming, rarely feeling the need to speak and always keeping his head down, but Mack has a gift for a unique form of expression: music. He has a particular love for the drums and the way they react, vibrate, and ring out. You can keep English, Portuguese, and Italian! Mack prefers the language of drums. Aside from Acorn and Clay, Mack’s best friend is his twin brother, Milo. Mack loves to march to his own beat, and his friends are glad to follow along.
So what do you guys think? I’ve been working on these guys for 5~ years and their world for nearly 7. I have other autistic characters and story excerpts/writings that I can share if y’all would be interested. I’m also open to answering any questions.

I’m interning at a Pre-K and the children are OBSESSED with this show like no other. They couldn’t care less about Danny Go or Super Simple Songs, but when they see this show on the autoplay, the carpet becomes a little chorus of “Peep! Peep!” They even ask for it when we’re watching something else. They love this show!
I never hear it get talked about, but honestly, I love it. It’s simple, charming, and actually kind of funny. I aside find it a lot less overstimulating than something like Bluey because it has a lot of quiet, slow moments. It reminds me of some of the cartons I watched when I was younger (Quack is basically Roy from Garfield and Friends, the tone feels very Little Bear or Franklin adjacent, and even the art style reminds me of stuff I’d see on Nick Jr. back in the day) and the kids think it’s a riot. The teachers also find a lot of episodes that relate to topics their covering in class like nocturnal animals or plants and I just think it’s really cool that such a brilliant show can be such an asset in early education.
So for those of you who’ve watched “Peep”, especially with your own kids, what do you think about it? Again, I never hear it talked about and I’m curious why, especially with his many episodes are free on YouTube. I’m really curious what parents think.
