Lomi Batangas habang naghihintay ng flight!

Having sabaw is such a win lalo na while waiting for my 4am flight! Sawsawang toyo, calamansi, at sili muna bago lumipad.

TIFU by doubling down on a 5-minute conversation with a guy who was actually on a call with his wife

Sooom this happened today, and I am currently contemplating changing my identity and moving to a new country LOL I was at the store browsing a shelf when a guy next to me looked generally in my direction and said, "Hey babe, do you think we need more of this, or should I just get the regular one?" Being a friendly person (and apparently blind), I immediately turned around with full enthusiasm, pointed at the item, and gave him a detailed 45-second rundown on why the bigger pack is always the better value.

He kind of blinked, looked at me, and hesitated for a second. Instead of realizing the obvious, that I am a complete stranger and not his wife, my brain instantly assumed he was just introverted or thrown off by my unsolicited grocery advice. So, naturally, I doubled down.

I started asking him about his meal plans for the week, making jokes about how hard it is to cook for two, and walking down the aisle alongside him to point out other sales. He kept making brief, awkward one-word answers like, "Uh... yeah" and "Right, true" which I took as a green light to keep the banter going.

It wasnt until minute four of my solo comedy routine that he turned his head slightly, and I caught the flash of a white wireless earbud hidden under his hair. Then came the killer line through his earbud, "Sorry honey, some girl next to me is explaining the snack aisle to me, what were you saying?"

My stomach dropped through the floor. I looked down at his hand and he was wearing a wedding ring! He was on a hands-free call with his actual wife the entire time, and she had just listened to me enthusiastically grocery shop with her husband for five minutes straight.

Did I apologize gracefully and laugh it off?? NO. My fight-or-flight kicked in, I mumbled "cool enjoy the snacks" abandoned my cart in aisle 4, and practically sprinted out to my car.

TL;DR:

Mistook a married guy on a Bluetooth call with his wife for someone starting a casual chat with me, doubled down on friendly banter for five minutes, and ended up accidentally weirding out a whole married couple before fleeing the store.
