How Much Longer Will Cambly Survive?
I’ve made plenty of posts complaining about Cambly, especially about wanting to become a Pro tutor for the pay increase to $15hr. I was accepted back in June but here we are in August and I still can’t activate Pro. At this point, I’ve pretty much given up and feel like it was just another way to string tutors along and quiet some of the complaints.
But now I’m wondering about something bigger: How much longer can Cambly survive?
As much as I complain, that extra beer money has definitely helped me out over the years. But today I went five straight hours on PHs without receiving a single call. That’s something I never thought I’d see.
Are things really this bad with Cambly right now? Are other tutors experiencing the same thing?
Heck, now I almost feel bad for wanting that extra $5hr. 😂
Instead of ongoing discounts, Cambly should've looked for ways to get tutors to retain students and have those loyal students promote them (basically focus the NPS metric). Or trial lessons with bonuses for tutors when a new student signs up. The leaders at Cambly really need to get their stuff together!!
Has anyone completed this one? I did but was challenged in the writing section.
I took this assessment but did not do well with the writing section as it called for you to add the accent on the letters such as the Latin "ñ" and others which I could not create on my laptop with an American keyboard.
Has anyone gotten your results back? Mine still shows as available to take even though I completed it already, is anyone else who has completed it still seeing it?
How comfortable are you answering this candidly??
Has anyone else received the Cambly tutor satisfaction survey?
I'm debating whether to answer it completely honestly. There are definitely some things I'd like to say, but I'm also wondering how anonymous the survey really is and whether candid feedback could have any negative consequences.
For those of you who've received it, are you answering honestly, holding back a bit, or skipping it altogether? Have you ever been completely candid on one of these surveys, and if so, did anything come of it?
I'm curious to hear what other tutors think before I submit mine.
Question for tutors with NaoNow - Cancellations
Does anyone know if we can cancel lessons without any penalties as long as they're more than 24 hours away? For example, if I have a lesson scheduled for next week and I cancel it today, would that affect my account or performance metrics in any way?
Or, once lessons are booked, are we essentially committed to teaching them, even if they're scheduled weeks or months in advance?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with this. Thanks!
Cambly Pro Account Activation
I received the email that I was accepted to Cambly Pro on 6/4 but haven't got the option to activate my pro account.
Has anyone received the option to activate your Pro account after receiving the acceptance email?
I decided to leave a study and instead of RETURNED it appears as REJECTED
I started a study that included screen sharing and I decided to leave the study using the option that read "You can choose to leave the study if you do not want to record your screen". I thought since I voluntarily left the study it would appear as RETURNED but on my submissions it appears as REJECTED. I decided to click the three dots and I saw the RETURN option which I chose.
It now appears as RETURNED on my submissions. Does this still count as a rejection or since it let me return the study will it be a RETURNED study?
Anyone else working on Project Vega??
Finally got invited to a project! Creating this post for support. Drop a comment if you are working on the same thing.
Need help managing in-force book!
Question for agency owners. How are you guys managing your in-force book of business to avoid chargebacks and term conversion opportunities? We've grown to around 50 agents, and I'm finding it hard to keep track of pending lapses across multiple carriers. It's costing us money through chargebacks when agents don't follow up with clients, and I know we're probably missing term conversion opportunities too. Are you using a CRM, carrier reports, or does someone on your team manage all of this manually?
Mind Window Survey
When doing a study that’s spread out over days, do I select “I’m finished” once I have gathered all of the information and have my consent to participate?
Finally Accepted to Pro
I received an email today saying I've been accepted to Pro. I've been wanting to join since Pro was launched.
But, as usual Cambly has managed to leave us in a gray area!!
The email states I've been approved, but my account won't actually be activated until demand for Pro tutors increases. In other words "You meet the requirements but please continue waiting!" Once again no real timeline, no clear commitment, and no indication of when activation will happen.
Well played Cambly...well played.
A couple of questions for those who may know more:
- Those of us who applied and have to meet specific requirements and were told we must continue meeting them while we wait. Does this also apply to tutors who were invited directly without having to apply?
- If we fall below one of the requirements while waiting for activation, what happens? Are we automatically removed from consideration, or is there some type of grace period to improve our numbers?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this process or has more information.
Cambly Burnout is Real!!!
Anyone else feeling completely burnt out with Cambly lately?
I have a lot of regular students, there are only about 2 that I enjoy talking to. For the rest, I find myself hoping they cancel or don't show up. I maintain 100% attendance and show up for every lesson but lately I actually feel stressed when students do show up, I've hidden from 3 this morning. Cambly is a side hustle for me but I bear it less each day.
The whole Pro situation isn't helping, being told to wait another 8–12 weeks is ridiculous and honestly feels like they're just stringing tutors along.
Anyway, just a rant. Curious if anyone else has hit this level of burnout.
New to - SME Careers SuperAnnotate
Just got my profile approved a couple days ago and joined Discord.
I noticed I am not able to chat (send messages) in the SME Careers channel on Discord, is this how it's suppose to work?
Can anyone let me know where I might see tasks appear?
Spanish Assessment - Error When Attempting to Complete
I attempted to participate in a Spanish Language Assessment but when agreeing to everything the page did not load the next step or route me to the actual study, I did this multiple times and could not get past the agreement page. Eventually I had to cancel my participation and it now appears as returned.
Since I "Returned" this study, will it appear on my study list again in the future or does the system take it as if I am not interested?
I have been waiting on this one and have seen it multiple times, but I had not participated as it always appeared while I was working on something else. I'm concerned that now it may not appear again.
If I take part in a study, does it have to be completed at that moment??
If I take part in a study, does it have to be completed at that moment or can I select the take part and start it a few hours later?
Has anyone been accepted to Pro after expressing interest?
I expressed my interest in Pro last week as soon as the notification showed up on the dashboard and saw that it can take 8-12 weeks to hear back.
Just curious to know if anyone has been accepted or heard anything after expressing interest?
Penalized for returning call within 2 minutes!!
I recently had a scheduled lesson and had an emergency so my plan was to return the minutes to my student.
This student is normally about 5 minutes late, and it was my first time returning minutes. I decided to return the minutes within the 2 minute mark although he did not show up and I received an email for ending the lesson early.
Does the 2 minute timeframe start when the student actually enters the lesson in order to do this an not be penalized?
Tow/Haul Mode in traffic
I've seen many videos about using the tow/haul mode while in traffic to prevent gear hunting.
My 2018 F150 with a 2.7 hasn't had any issues with the transmission so I continue to drive it in normal.
Has anyone decided to use the tow/haul mode even if you have not experienced any issues? Is it even recommended in this scenario?
Just got a notification that Cambly Pro will be rolled out to ALL tutors. Finally we all get a chance to show what we got and earn a bit more doing it.
I'm looking to join Ringle to teach Business English. I recently hear of them and don't have too much information other than a pay range of $18-$20 per 40 min lesson.
Can anyone on here please share your experience with them?
