600 mg for over 40 days

Hey everyone, I have a question.

I've been taking gabapentin for a little over 40 days now, 300 mg in the morning and 300 mg in the evening, so 600 mg total per day.

I was wondering if 600 mg a day is considered a high dose and whether I should expect significant withdrawal symptoms after taking it for over 40 days.

Has anyone here had a similar experience? I'd also really appreciate any advice on tapering off. How slowly should I reduce the dose, and what kind of steps did you use when tapering?

Thanks a lot in advance, I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences!

Day 46 – continued fear and panic

Hi everyone,

I’m on Day 46 of cold turkey withdrawal, and I’m still experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. Is this normal? Can anyone help or offer some tips? I’m still taking Gabapentin—up to 400mg a day—to help with this; it calms my nervous system a bit.

Best regards

30 Days Clean – Initial Summary

To everyone fighting this battle: there is one word that must never exist in your vocabulary—giving up!

I was up to 60gpd. My life revolved entirely around avoiding withdrawal; the first symptoms would kick in after just 4 or 5 hours. Welcome to the "green hell." Kratom had me in a chokehold. I was taking 1–2 tablespoons every three hours or so; I could imagine a lot of things, but never actually breaking free from it. It became a love-hate relationship, and I kept telling myself it was helping me get things done that I wouldn't manage while sober—I was completely wrong. In reality, it was an abusive codependency—highly toxic. After several attempts (including tapering), I decided to check into a detox clinic. I stayed there for about 10 days. For the first seven days, I was given 300mg of Gabapentin three times a day and a non-addictive sleep aid at night. If I was extremely restless—and believe me, I was—I’d get 5–10mg of Diazepam. Look, for the first day or two, they could have hit me with a tranquilizer dart—the kind you see on nature shows when they sedate an elephant—and it wouldn't have made a difference. My RLS was off the charts, and the panic and anxiety were intense. They threw heavy-duty meds at me, but to no avail. I think Kratom simply knew I was serious about quitting. Folks, I know this sounds harsh, but you just have to go through hell and accept the pain, the fear, the panic, and the tears. After those 2–3 days, I started moving toward freedom. Every day got better. I’ve been clean for 30 days now. I only take 100–300mg of Gabapentin as needed—though, honestly, I’m pretty much done with that, too. My worst symptoms: RLS, anxiety, panic attacks, FATIGUE!!!! FATIGUE is my absolute ultimate nemesis right now.

What helped: God (I am a believer, and prayers during my darkest hours saved me; I owe everything to Him); accepting all the suffering and trying to view it as a healing process; the "quittinkratom" Reddit channel is gold—read, read, read; completely changing my diet—drastically cutting out sugar (and I mean \*completely\*—not even sucking on a single piece of candy; I’d say I cut it by 85%), eating lots of vegetables, fish, fruit, etc.; showing FATIGUE exactly what you think of it—and EXERCISING—every single damn day! I lift weights; if one muscle group hurts, I just work a different one. If my whole body aches, I go for a walk; if I can't manage that, I do some housework or something similar—but I get something productive done every day.

It will take months, perhaps even years, for the healing process to be complete, but I am regaining my freedom more and more each day. Kratom no longer controls me; I control Kratom.

I wish everyone the strength to break free from Kratom. Stay strong.

12 Days in Detox – Now I'm Home

Hi everyone,

I spent 12 days in a detox clinic. They discharged me on Gabapentin 300 mg twice a day and recommended that I taper off the medication with my primary care doctor as an outpatient.

Today I tried skipping my morning dose because I absolutely don't want to become dependent on Gabapentin. But within a short time, I started having panic attacks and severe anxiety.

What do you think I should do? Should I go back to the clinic and ask them to help me stop the Gabapentin there? Or should I stay on my current dose for now and taper off more gradually?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank you.

12 Tage Klinik- Jetzt zu Hause

Hallo Leute,

Was soll ich jetzt machen?
