As expected, Aidan and Karen are appealing Judge Gildea's rulings on the Anti-SLAAP motions

Not a big surprise here as this was expected. It'll be interesting to see what they write and what cases they cite for their appeal. I look forward to Pyle's motion as he seems to be really on the ball about 1st amendment caselaw.

Edit - Le Sigh... too early in morning for me. SLAPP not SLAAP. Though I would like to see some people in this case get SLAAPed.

Cops records colleagues on background investigation team for LAPD recruits being sexist, racist, homophobic remarks DA responds…

By charging the cop that recorded his colleague with felony wiretapping charges with up to 13 years in jail.

https://ktla.com/news/local-news/cop-faces-13-years-in-prison-for-secretly-recording-sexist-homophobic-and-racist-remarks-allegedly-made-by-fellow-lapd-officers-das-office-says/

Here’s the one “good” cop and the DA wants to make an example out of him for violating two party consent laws.

The officer, 43-year-old Daniel Flores, allegedly taped portions of conversations while he was assigned to a unit that performed background investigations into candidates seeking jobs with the LAPD. The recordings were taped secretly without the permission of his fellow officers, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said.
“This case serves as a warning to anyone seeking to record a conversation without the other person’s permission that doing so is illegal and has been a crime in the state of California for over 50 years,” Hochman said. “It doesn’t matter where you work or who you are – a neighbor, a coworker or, in this case, a police officer. Your right to privacy in a confidential conversation is protected, no matter who is doing the recording or, with few exceptions, why they are doing the recording. For those illegal eavesdroppers, please know that my office will prosecute them for their actions surreptitiously recording others.”

“We deplore the sexist, homophobic and racist remarks made by certain LAPD employees, and they should be held accountable for such statements,” Hochman said. “However, in our all-party consent state, where California has been one of the nation’s leaders in protecting privacy and deterring illegal eavesdropping for over half a century, one cannot simply choose to break the law because one wants to pursue a personal agenda. The options are [to] not break the law or do nothing. One can address important issues by going through the proper legal channels. If one chooses a law-breaking path instead, then the consequences will be straightforward and significant.”

Djuna Perkins stepped in it more than once at the debate

“I wonder what Sandra Birchmore’s family would think if they saw the messages left on my social media posts. The same kind of misogynistic texts and vile disgusting texts that come from his supporters” (tried to transcribe it but get a little lost at the “same kind” part).

If you want to listen yourself Emily See has a link to the video.

She also blames him for having MAGA supporters. Which I don’t care personally about. I want MAGA to be more open and supportive of going after police and prosecutorial corruption. I want people of all political stripes to be more willing to question government power and its abuses. Also she stings him for being a lowly Federal prosecutor only and not someone that has ever done county level prosecutions.

She really is missing the forest for the trees here with her attacks. But don’t invoke Birchmore like that.

Doolin denies disqualification of Cosgrove for Karen Read

I would kill for an evidentiary hearing in anything to do with Karen/Aidan cases. Mainly because we can see how badly it has and is going for Lally in Myles King to the point they took a year long hiatus in the middle of it.

The Clancy case and how MSP homicide investigations are done

The Clancy case is tough watch as anytime I get around stories where someone kills their own kids (accidentally, on purpose, or mental breaks) it just hits me so hard as I always have a visceral reaction to it as my imagination of what the kid was thinking or feeling in their last moment just hits me in my emotional center.

However, it’s worth noting that once again the MSP knows how to record interviews. It knows how to conduct them and take contemporaneous notes. It knows how to write reports in timely manner. I can keep going.

As always, the house defendants should have the most scorn and hatred for the MSP and Canton PD for how their shoddy investigation let all the “conspiracies” to find fertile ground. Yet, they want to defend them to the hilt.

Rosemary wants Proctor’s phone for her own expert to review and she has a reason…

It’s her belief it will show he destroyed evidence by deleting the messages off his phone after the Federal Grand Jury testimony.

Judge Gildea Denies Motion for Reconsideration of his staying of any further Proctor deposition

This is getting kind of absurd as now Proctor's lawyers have raised a new reason as to why it with Aidan's post about Proctor having a "nervous" breakdown.

Judge Gildea wants Murphy to say why didn’t he include an email Seligson showed existed

Maybe the judge will finally recognize some of the games being played.

Higgins Deposition should be happening right now - July 9th

Does he last the whole day?

What questions do you ask him?

What are you most interested in?

I want more information about the 1:30 am or so phone call at the police station. What phone was used for that? A work phone? A 2nd phone?

Where was your jeep parked? Why did you plow a driveway with no snow on it to make a “spot” for Brian and Nicole.

Who was the man that you saw enter the house in you Fed GJ testimony?

Judge Gildea with an order about the Special Motion to Dismiss

He apparently has some questions about responses to emails from Attorney Murphy (I believe he is a house defendant lawyer).

Why the judge is micromanaging communications at this level? No idea.

I will note we have yet to see this judge ever order House Defendant lawyers (or 3rd party lawyers) to give affidavits as to how shenanigans happened with them around Depositions (missing, shifting excuses) or hallucinated cases (Tully) or Proctor's lawyer continuing to blame people for stuff without evidence.

Judge Gildea again with some snark as he makes order on motion to compel House Defendantd

He’s doing a lot of editorializing for his “just give me the facts” stance.
