Hit By Green Laser - Danger?

Hi,

I was just outside a hotel building when I was struck by a green laser. I noticed a green light on my face, suddenly it became extremely intense, I closed my eyes and yelled.

I looked up trying to find out who was doing that and saw him, yelled at him and he casually walked away from his balcony.

After a minute or so he kept shining his laser pointer around again, but he remained in the back of his balcony.

I already noticed the man a few days ago pointing his laser at people.

Took a photo of the balcony location.

How dangerous was that? My vision feels mostly fine right now, although my left eye felt a little "off" for a few minutes or so.

I was taught that these things are dangerous, hence why I am asking.

* I was about 5 m away from the laser

* I felt very intense light

* It was a green laser pointer - a lot of those get sold in the area by random little streetside stores

Noise Tinnitus Spike - Is This Serious?

Hello everyone,

I was at a restaurant a few days ago when a waitress slammed a large stack of plates onto another stack of plates right next to me. That made a loud bang. Like loud. My ears contracted for a second, but otherwise my hearing seems fine.

But my (preexisting) tinnitus got louder that day and over the next few days continued getting worse and changed.

Since the symptoms didn't appear immediately I didn't think of going to an ENT. But now it's staring to really worry me.

I'm trying to get an ENT appointment.

Can anybody here help me out and tell me what's going on?

Another Spike - ENT? Help

Hi,

I posted on here two weeks or so ago about a spike that luckily resolved.

And after a few days of normalcy I got another spike 😭. And this one's worse 😔.

I was at a restaurant where a waitress smacked a large stack of plates onto another stack of plates next to me. That made a super loud bang.

This spike is just... different. And no, I don't spike often.

That was on tuesday. Now my T spiked + I have a new wobbling sound that gets louder with some noises (like from a microwave). That's super weird.

The symptoms slowly developed over the days, so I didn't think of going to my ent immediately.

But now I'm at a loss - what do I do now?

My hearing seems fine (yeah I'm gonna get it tested) - but is it too late for prednisone? Earliest I can get to an ent doctor is monday or tuesday. Is prednisone even necessary, would it even do anything if it turns out fine?

I'm just so fucking done I don't understand why these things need to happen. I've got enough going on already.

Spike Update - Prednisone Or Not?

I posted here a few days ago about my spike where there was a lot of things going on, I mostly suspected a loud emergency response event.

So I just did a hearing test today:

My right ear lost 10 dB at 6kHz compared to a previous test a year ago.

Everything else is the same.

I'm also experiencing the spike on the right.

That happened like 10 or 11 days ago.

What do I do? Should I get prednisone? I'm not sure because everything else is exactly the same.

I've already been taking vitamins and minerals for the last few days.

I'm Having A Spike And I've Hit A Wall - Need Help

TL DR: lots of things going on and I'm having a spike - what do I do now? Advice needed.

About a week ago there was a tragic accident - a relative died. It was horrible. We had to resuscitate them. Later the paramedics arrived and a helicopter landed nearby. Rest in peace, they will be missed.

And all of this happened on a very hot day in the sun and I was already out working in the heat before that. I was exposed to a lot of mental and physical stress.

So I needed to deal with death while having sunstroke and being dizzy for a few days (and some sunburn). I got an initial tinnitus spike that was noticable but not too bad, so I didn't think about it much (mind you I have strong OCD). But this first spike resolved after 3 days or so.

After I got better I went to the shopping mall to distract myself. Suddenly I heard a tire screech in the parking garage. It happened further away from me and the loudness was still "okay" in my eyes, although loud. I did get a weird feeling in my right ear when it happened - although I was exposed to noises like that before without much issue.

Later that ear spiked. And it's been like that for a few days now.

I am bad at dealing with T and my right ear is more difficult to deal with. It recently improved and it was easier to deal with - now it's back to being reactive again (luckily only sometimes). I also have this variable, jumpy morse code like sound in my right - now it's louder and more continuous. That one relly gets to me.

What caused my spike? The physical exhaustion, the mental stress or the noise? The emergency scene was loud, lots of yelling, and the helicopter also. But it was still within the "bad, but shouldn't cause issues" territory loudness wise. Was it the tire screech? Or all of those together?

I'm now constantly checking my T.

I hope my spike will settle. I have an audiologist appointment booked in a few days since my ENT is on holidays *sigh*.

Any advice?

Question About Habituation

Hi everyone,

So I've been having tinnitus for more than 1 year now. I try to coexist with it and for the most part it works.

But I've got this morse code / intermittent like sound that is irritating me. I have difficulty dealing with it still. I can mask this sound but it still bothers me when I stop masking and hear it. It honestly makes me very uncomfortable.

The other sounds of the tinnitus don't bother me as much.

To the habituated ones: What does habituation mean to you?

Just that there is no fear response anymore? Or to be fully "Zen" with it? Are you still bothered by it?

Inexperienced here: Is this normal? Chain making noises like that? Is it too tight?

The chain is tightened to rather tight slack values (35-40 mm) but still within manufacturer recommended range (35-45 mm).

It's on the rear stand.

I adjusted my chain slack and tightened everything to spec.

Am I good to go with that wheel alignment?

Motorcycle is on side stand.
