13-week-old Aussie puppy has diarrhea and vomiting after deworming tablet – anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

My 13-week-old Australian Shepherd puppy received a deworming tablet yesterday around noon.

Since this morning, she has had diarrhea and has vomited twice. I also noticed a small amount of blood in her stool, which has me pretty worried.

We already have a vet appointment scheduled for today, but I’m feeling very anxious and was wondering if anyone else’s puppy had similar symptoms after deworming
Is diarrhea, vomiting, or a little blood in the stool something that can happen as a reaction to deworming medication, or is this more likely to be something else?

Thank you for any experiences or advice.

Anxiety disorder and POTS

I was wondering if anyone else developed an anxiety disorder because their POTS went undiagnosed for a long time.

In my case, it took about five years before I was finally diagnosed. During that time, I unfortunately also developed an anxiety disorder. Looking back, it’s hard not to become anxious when you’re constantly dealing with symptoms and don’t know what’s causing them.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? And if so, how do you cope with it?

High heart rate even when you’re not standing or moving?

I wanted to ask if any of you also have a high heart rate even when you’re not standing or being physically active.
When I’m standing, my heart rate is usually around 120 bpm, which I know can be part of POTS. However, I’ve noticed that even when I’m sitting, my heart rate is often around 90–100 bpm.

Is that still common with POTS, or should I be thinking about other possible causes as well? I’m feeling a bit unsure about it.

I also wanted to ask whether any of you have successfully trained your cardiovascular system over time and noticed that your overall heart rate settled at a lower level. If so, what helped you the most?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Constantly tracking my heart rate

Hi everyone,

Ever since my diagnosis, I’ve found myself checking my heart rate almost all the time. I’m not really sure what I’m expecting to see—maybe some improvement in my tachycardia now that I’ve made lifestyle changes.

Unfortunately, seeing the high numbers just stresses me out, and I haven’t noticed any improvement so far. It’s starting to feel like I’m focusing on it too much.

How do you deal with this? Do you track your heart rate regularly, or have you found it better to check it less often?

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Sleep improvement with POTS

Hi everyone,

I (F, 30) was diagnosed with POTS two weeks ago. It has probably been affecting me for much longer, though. One of my main problems is sleep. I’ve been sleeping really poorly for about a year now.

I usually wake up between 1 and 3 a.m. with a racing heart, a dry mouth, hot flashes, or because I can hear my heartbeat in my ear. As a result, I’m constantly exhausted, and it feels like my tachycardia and nausea get much worse after particularly bad nights.

Does anyone have any tips on what helps you sleep reasonably well despite having POTS?

I’d be grateful for any advice!
