The song Tum Ho from rockstar is a genius creation and lemme explain that

I'm high as a kite right now, and rn is the best time to shit some heavy discussion. So in the movie rockstar, every song has a certain role, or let's say a certain part or development of Jordan. Tum Ho was the entire romantic base of Jordan for Heer, after he was properly aware of his feelings.

Such a big role for one song, yet surprisingly you never see it in the core movie (you see it at the end). Even for the moments you encounter the song, it is in bits and pieces. But why? (Will come to this later)

For the times it was shown in the core movie you see it in bits and pieces. You see it in Jordan's guitar performance, but instead of the soft song, you hear a loud distorted version on an elec guitar. Symbolic of his raw emotions he hasn't processed yet. Also notice how that performance has soft choir vocals behind Jordan. But they are hard to hear with such a heavy electric guitar overshadowing them. Its like there's a part of Jordan which has processed more, but most of his emotions are still very raw.

The scene where he kissed Heer, but Heer denied. Finer emotions, as you can hear vocals and flute, but still not complete.

Finally at the end of the movie, when Jordan is no longer ambitious for his music, no longer afraid of his career ruining, misbehaving with the same audience he used to sing for at bus stops; but all that's left of him is a man in despair who couldn't get his love, the complete Tum Ho plays.

Notice how all songs were in a real world, but Tum Ho was in a fantasy. You may argue that it was the location where things escalated between them, but still their actions seemed more fantasy and imaginary. As if Jordan is just imagining, a happy life with Heer in a world kinder than ours. The song shows itself fully in a fantasy, but only in bits in the real world. Because Jordan's love was never fulfilled in the real world.

Speaking about the song, notice how the lyrics of the very first stanza plays at how Jordan is happy that Heer is with him and yet sad that she isn't. Bcz isn't it the exact thing which broke him completely. Heer chose Jordan over her husband, everything was improving for Jordan. And then suddenly bam, she is no longer with him.

Also look at the chords positioning for the song. The first two chords F major and A# major. And the next line goes with F major as you expect, and then bam A minor and A major. Anyway i cant think of a proper conclusion, so yeah that's it.

Weed usage rant out😋

20 (M). So today I was alone in my flat after college. Nice monsoon season and some weed left in my stash. Obv combo. Time to puff. So I already had a bong with me. But no lighter. Pehle to I went out to buy some goood food. Initial plan to chicken ka tha, lekin aaj mangalwar hai🥺. To switched to eggs (plz no vegan or religious shaming🙏). Fir us dukan ke just saamne he there was a chai ki dukaan. Jaha chai vaha sutta, lekin mixer to chahiye he hota😇. Ek sutta rkh liya and also found this crazy pack of chips like things I've never eaten b4. Damn these indian local brands really smash🤑.

Fir I had to go 1 km to a nice lil raashan ki dukaan in the mid of a society. Aunty ko bola, aunty ye ek bottle coke krdo, or *rolling paper bhi krdo🤗*. Aunty is v chill, and she brings up the paper in her hand, "Ye wala na?". I was like aunty chill, itta khule aam bhi nhi😭😭🙏.

Lighter, ciggy, food, paper all acquired. I come back, nicely fill up my cone. Uske baad enough stuff for 2 bongs was left. Filled up the bong, touched it to my lips, just had a bliss of the taste of weed or tbhi mummy ka call aagaya. I was like bc nice save. Finished talking to her, played the elec guitar version of Tum Ho on the speaker, and took my first bong.

Heavennnnnnnn. Another bong, and I became the guitar riff. I'm so fucking high rn. Damnnnnnn, I used to wonder as a kid why would anyone smoke or drink, if it reduces your life. Seems like life is not worth prolonging. I wish I had better eyes

Charles Bukowski appreciation post

I'm not sure how popular is Charles Bukowski in the Indian reader community here on reddit, but I've wanted to make a post regarding him since I read his poem 'Bluebird'. I won't be posting the entire poem but here goes some stanzas :

There's a bluebird in my heart That wants to get out

But I'm too tough for him . I say, stay in there

I'm not going to let anybody see you

There's a bluebird in my heart That wants to get out

But I pour whiskey on him And inhale cigarette smoke

And the whores and the bartenders And the grocery clerks

Never know That he's in there

But he's in there There's a bluebird in my heart

You'd never know That he's in there

Never know That he's in there

There's a bluebird in my heart

You'd never know

That he's in there

But he's in there

There's a bluebird in my heart

That wants to get out

But I'm too tough for him

I say

Stay down

Do you wanna mess me up?

Do you wanna screw up the works?

You wanna blow my book sales in Europe?

There's a bluebird in my heart

That wants to get out

But I'm too clever

I only let him out at night sometimes

When everybody's asleep

I say

I know you're there

So don't be sad

Then I put him back

There's a bluebird in my heart

Never know

That he's in there

Never know

That he's in there

There's a bluebird in my heart

You'd never know

That he's in there

But he's in there

But he's singing a little in there

I haven't quite let him die

And we sleep together like that

With our secret pact

And it's nice enough

To make a man weep

But I don't weep

Do you?

I don't remember when did poetry became about rhyming schemes, and I wish I had found people like Bukowski before. I don't think I even need to explain anything, as the words convey the message so beautifully.

The blue bird, or Charle's childhood innocence is still with him. He has become a different person, for the society (book sales, whores, bartenders, clerks) wouldn't let him survive as the innocent child he was. He kills this inner child all throughout the day with whiskey and smoke. To the outer world he is a tough man who can take it all, the epitome os resilience. But only when the night comes, and the society is no longer looking at him, Bukowski lets his inner child come out. Bukowski could've killed him completely, but he lets him live. A tenant he doesn't ask from anything, but a tenant he needs to stay sane, for the child inside him is the only thing which is truly is. He knows his childhood is gone, and can never come back, except for the nights where the world shuts their eyes off him.

Well the nail is finally gone

For context i had a post on this same page b4. So basically I (20M)grew out one nail, the one on my left thumb, just bcz i wanted to. Returned from clg 2 days ago, and my parents have been over my head to cut it down. Down goes every single of my achievements, and I have been labelled as a 'chapri', 'bhikari', and a disgrace

But today there was this party, and i was craving so bad for some good food. And my parents genuinely forced me to cut my nail, as they were ashamed to present me as their son, bcz of one fucking nail😭😭😭. And well that's the end of my nail. Adios you mass of keratin

Karma system is tufff😭😭😭

So i created this acc like 4 years ago, but never used it. All of a sudden i deicide to use it in 2026, and went on some stoic pages to ask some questions i had, apparently i didn't meeet the requirement to post there😭.

I quit for 5 months and then rejoin and get to know some pages. I find this one controversial post which was being praised by everyone in that sub reddit. I could clearly see these people are in their own echo chamber. Unaware of what karma system is, i started countering the post. Language and everythinf were respectful, but just bcz i didn't agree to their thoughts everyone down voted me so bad, but i didn't care, cuz i was still unaware.

Yesterday i wanted to post sth on a page, and apparently there was a requirement even here. I was like wtf, it is asking me for 3 karma sth. I go to my profile and see i have 5 karma. Completely bamboozled, i later realized what i was considering a hyphen, was a negative sign.

My karma was -5😭😭😭. Finally after some grinding, I reached +4 and can finally post comments🥹🥹

All it took was one fricking nail

So i (20yo M) grew one fricking nail, the one on my left thumb, and now I've been labelled as a 'chapri' / 'bhikhari' by my mom and dad. Moral of the story : no matter what kind of a high achiever kid you are, it takes one fucking nail for your parnets to label you as useless

Niche books?

Well I have low hopes to receiving any form of engagement on this. But has anyone read 'beautiful boy' by David Sheff, and if you have , did you also read 'tweak', by his son Nic sheff? So for context David writes this memoir describing the hardships his family had to endure while his son Nic was addicted to crystal meth, and its really compelling, but then if you read Tweak, you feel like you are exposed to a diff world altogether
