Trying to do genealogy and need advice on how to read my results (Balkans)
So I did the test. Origin från Kosovo. Unfortunately not much heritage mostly orally retelling, many of my great grandparents have been killed in different kind of wars.
The only thing I know for sure is which tribe I belong on the 12 original tribes of Albanians, from the highlands of Kosovo and Montenegro. And a proof of land ownership from my grandmother who lived in todays Serbia and were forcefully moved during the expulsion of Albanians in the Toplica region 1877 by newly established state of Serbia. The proof of land ownership shows the city or area she came from (Leskovac) and migrated to todays Kosovo.
To summarize I know which tribe I belonged to who was firstly mentioned in documents in 1474 and this ownership of land somewhere around 1840-50s. So I need advice and help to understand my results:
Questions:
\- why do they list Balkans as it would be a homogeneous region? Theres a lot of ethnicities how should one know?
\- I got some matching with a city in Chile. Are there any known relations? Tried researching about potential colonizing people from Balkans who went thete
\- most of other countries in Balkans are not a surprise since Albanians lived stretched out from todays Bosnia all the way south in Greece. However it was interesting to see that all the matches for Serbia was either a) areas that was used to be populated by Albanians or b) towns in northern part of Serbia, Vojvodina a diverse region mixed with croats, Hungarian’s and serbs.
\- is this a normal result for the ”average Albanian” result? (Based on the fact that many people doesn’t relate my physical appearance with Albanian)
Thanks in advance!
