With the win yesterday over the Cubs, the Cardinals have now played 118 years in a row without losing 100 or more games

The Cardinals have not finished last in the National League since 1918 and haven't had back to back under .500 full 162-game seasons (have to win 19 more this year)

1908 was also the last year that the Dodgers lost 100 games. The Cardinals have not finished last in the National League since 1918 and haven't had back to back under .500 seasons since 1958-1959.

How the Cubs roster will be looking after the lockout

With a farm system in the bottom 5 of baseball to boot! Enjoy the two playoff games you're going to get this season, they'll be your last ones for quite sometime.

That rebuilding Cardinals team made you look like a fool, Cubbies. They basically pulled your little dick out in front of everyone and jerked you off until nothing came out

We'll stay rivals and play in the same division until the lockout, but I will not respect you, and I'll make sure the league doesn't either.

"Contender" Cubs lose season series to team in total rebuild

This team is primed to play two more games than the Baby Birds in 2026 and maintain their historic irrelevance. And their ballpark smells like piss.

From my garden to the fridge

Cucumbers and red jalapenos in a vinegar/salt/sugar/water brine. The cucumbers have coriander seeds, mustard seeds, red pepper flakes, garlic, and dill, and the jalapenos have garlic.

CAN I SUE my landlord for drywalling off half my apartment w/o notice? [PHL]

I wish I was joking. I came home from work to my 5 bedroom 5 bathroom apartment split into two 2 bed 2 baths and no reasonable access to a kitchen. Also my water is lime green?!?!

Key Info:
- Philadelphia PA laws/ordinances
- We don't have renters insurance
- Each room is leased independently, currently two are subleases.

She essentially asked me a few weeks ago if she can start remodeling prior to all our leases ending within the next month or so. She only mentioned knocking down a wall to make the living room bigger. I said sure, but she needed to ask the other roommates too. I guess she only talked to one, but I followed up by text shortly after saying the dust will be bad for breathing and it's best she waits.

Then last Wednesday she comes asking to measure cabinets then maybe get started replacing them. I thought no problem, less messy than dry wall We can easily use the dining room table for dishes and cooking prep.

I still asked could it please wait until the coming Monday- so I had a couple of days to get my dressers, mini frige, and large items moved out, my lease is ending the following Friday. Plus I worked from home Friday. But that I wouldn't be home over the weekend. She agreed.

Low and behold, I come by Sunday to get more things and the place is covered in dust with frames ready to be dry walled, with the kitchen under tarps and no access to utilities.

Now a few days later I've been staying at my parents house because it's completely unlivable and I just came back after work this evening to find that I now have a different front door, no kitchen/living room or appliances and it's a two bed two bath.

Can anyone tell me what in the actual f***?

How long until ready?

This is my first Boston pickling cucumber of the season. I am going out of town for the week and I want to give the person watching my house a sense of when they should expect to pick it. I've already told them it should get no more than 6 inches long but it would be nice to give them a reasonable estimate. Because it's the first of the season and I normally just check them everyday I don't really have a sense of much longer it will be, but I'm pretty sure after I get back will be too long.

My other thought is that maybe I should just go ahead and pick it early before I leave and let them watch for the smaller ones.

Rivalry weekend

St. Louis hates Chicago because it's bigger, Chicago hates St. Louis because they're winners, meanwhile Milwaukee is the Kansas City of the NL: so far behind that they think they're winning.

Four-sided Bars

I went to the Rose Bowl Tavern in Urbana, IL last night and realized I couldn't think of any bars in St. Louis that have four-sided bars like they have there. We thought of McGurk's before recalling that the bar there has three sides.
