I just loaded a few dollars into my Apple account balance and noticed it’s categorized as a 3x under digital goods/large merchant type. Idk if that’s supposed hitting as select streaming services or online groceries but hey 3x is 3x
All of a sudden everyone and their mom (myself included) have been preapproved and invited to apply after the waitlist sat stagnant for 2 years? Now everyone who wasn’t even interested in the card is asking whether they should apply before the preapproval expires.
Edit: sure, all of you who are saying duh of course it is, yes you’re right. Maybe I didn’t articulate myself well though. Of course it is. Really what I was trying to say is that the waitlist isn’t anything more than that. It certainly isn’t a queue to receive an invite as there’s no correlation.
The point is that it’s just another shitty behavior from an already unreputable fintech. Instead of just having the basic decency to reject someone and not waste their time like any other card, they chose instead to leverage their interest for the purpose of giving their product an air of exclusivity. Stringing them along for years and use them as pawns despite no interest in their business.
And for clarity, i have zero interest in robinhood anything, am not on the waitlist, yet was invited this month with the wave of others. Just one more reason why i have zero interest in a financial relationship with them.
