Help! I love ferns but seem to not have a green thumb when it comes to this guy. It’s in a self watering pot, has a humidifier right next to it but lots of leaves are falling off. Please advise.

Am I not watering enough? It gets watered about every 10 days. It gets nice indirect sun but I don’t feel like it’s thriving like the rest of my plants. Advice needed, thank you!

Do I just chop one mid trunk & propagate the top? Never done this type of chop before…do I put the top portion to root in water? It’s so big that it feels like it will take months & months to get strong enough roots but I’m willing to. Any other tips or suggestions??
