Dev Feedback - May 2026
Still really loving this game. Beautiful and extremely engaging.
Here is my post from April - much of it still rings true: https://www.reddit.com/r/crosswind/comments/1sqke7g/windrose_dev_feedback_april_2026/
And here are a few additional thoughts:
-multiplayer needs more bells, or at least for the 9 to be individual to each player (with different colors)
-food buffs automatically die if we log out or even lose connection. need to have those stay even upon log out, please. Huge waste of food to eat something, get dropped, and come back to have to eat for buffs again.
-transmogrification. I'd like to be able to make my gear look like what ever I want it to, rather than be bound to the gear I have to wear for the build.
-need to be able to favorite items to prevent scapping items I want to keep.
-crocodiles are invulnerable when doing their red ping special grab attack. would really prefer this wasn't the case. could have saved a buddy with one more hit on the croc :-/
-custom ship colors - i would really like to be able to customize my ship rather than these pre-set color sets.
-need to be able to sell back plans I've already purchased, or be locked out from purchasing again.
-mysterious spices need to be added to a vendor.
---would like to see most things added to vendors as progression happens.
-hitting a charging enemy with a heavy attack when they do their run-leap-attack, doesn't stop it's leap attack from landing - I'd like to see that be the case.
-bromelaid has no seeds?
-ancient spice quest is actually mysterious spice - it would be great to have the quest text updated so that its not confusing.
-frigate speed constantly jumps between 15-17 kts - not sure if thats a visual glitch or its actual movement speed has an issue. This happens all the time, no matter the circumstance. this seems to be fixed.
-need chimneys to attach to the smelter and charcoal unit, so that we can have them inside for a forge.
-weapon racks
-armor racks
-decorative treasure (piles of gold, chests, thrones, jewels, pots of gold, boxes of gems, pile of jewelry, art, vases, etc. I want to be able to make a treasure room and show off my opulence. (with a pirate lord throne!)
-"f" key view change needs to be further out with the frigate - its so large that the extended view is still nice, but hard to see over the sails. Perhaps two modes, out, and way out?
-bed respawn point on ships, which would help with boarding deaths
-need a way to expand the land claim. We have an enormous base being worked on, and are just using multiple fires, but we have to ferry building goods to the other fire area to use them from the containers; or build from inventory. Would really like the ability to level up the bonfire and greatly expand its range.
-have private servers remember password - unless its changed, no need to prompt every time.
---also have enter key be submit, instead of requiring a click.
-shift toggle sprinting, instead of hold to sprint.
-UI update to include timer for deliveries that actively counts down. Also, why 70 minutes?
---ability to place multiple orders (i recognize this is solved by having multiple of the same vendor, but being able to order more than 10x, and also order multiple items would be great.
-stack sizes? Its inconsistent, and I'm not sure why those numbers were chosen.
-need to be able to sell all the keys in the game - they are piling up because I have to farm other items in those areas, and I can't leave stuff on the ground (it will just be there when I come back again tomorrow)
----have a destuctor device (ala Valheim wouldn't be a bad idea)
-need wrought iron gates, fencing, window bars, and various other items. I want to make dungeons, armory, wine cellar, and a treasure room!
Again, thank you!
I know there is an ideas page on the Windrose support site, but I have been working on this for quite sometime.
Perhaps the last one I'll do, since the site far better at cataloging and being open for votes. I greatly appreciate the Devs for putting up that ideas support page. World class, in my opinion.
Looking forward the future of Windrose!
Cheers,
