How do I get stuff out of the ground?

I may or may not have spent several hours gathering materials, then accidentally disconnected a big chunk of them from the lift while they were lodged in the ground… now they’re stuck, and I can’t figure out if there’s a way to get them back. I can see them with the connect tool but it’s useless, and if I clip into the ground I can connect them to the lift tool, but it lets go of the creation once I die. Is my stuff permanently lodged down there? Will I have to grind for my stuff again?

How do I play this game?

I recently got this game because it sounded pretty fun, but even though I like survival games, I’m pretty bad at them.

Right now I’ve just got a small base in by the warehouse (meant to type mechanic station). I’m working on getting a vehicle with suspension and a drill so I can eat those rocks and stop tipping over. I’ve touched farming but it scared me because evil robots so I’ve just stuck with stumbling around gathering a truck full of corn and feeding it to my wocs.

I’ve never strayed too far because of my crappy vehicle, but once I saw this warehouse with blue guys that have the aim and damage of Minecraft skeletons on crack. It took me 5 tries to get my stuff out of there after I died, and I never got in because I need a key, that apparently drops from a boss that’s somewhere. I also saw a guy in this mountain that sold guns and seeds for stuff I don’t have, which I’d have to farm to get. Too scary since I don’t know how to defend my farms.

This game looks like it has progression, but I’m not too sure how to approach it. I’m bad at research, so all I’ve been able to find are beginners guides that don’t talk about progression or how to do it. Apparently 1.0 is going to have a bunch of overhauls, so I’d like to get a general understanding of survival so that I’m not overwhelmed when it gets even more complicated.

I ask you guys: what am I supposed to do in this game, and what am I working towards? I kinda want a list of things that I’m supposed to be doing and working towards. Right now I’m too aimless and it looks like I’ll be sitting in my corner by my lake forever, living off milk and my 3x3 of carrots. I don’t really care about any spoilers as long as they can help me with direction.

This guy’s post got locked and removed by the mods near instantly on the main sub

Genuinely what’d bro do? There was no automod comment stating the reason, and the post had no description to justify this

I’ve always wanted to build with these, and today I finally found a big enough bag

The grip strength on these is abysmal, and I barely had enough large bricks to build the house.

However, I did it: I made a house with a doorway and two windows, an overhanging roof (minimal droop) and a light pole, inhabited by Brick Astley and his 13 children (some offscreen)

Can anyone help me improve this setup?

I want to look kinda like the app icons are little ice cubes on a red hot background, but I can’t seem to get the colors quite right

Second year! I get closer to the basement every day

Ignore that it still says 1 year, there’s some rounding differences ig. The cake is the true indicator, if the timers haven’t caught up that’s their problem. Last year comparison included!
