Civil Labourer

28M just started at a small to medium size civil mob as a labourer and later on progressing up the pyramid to hopefully one day be in the seat operating a machine myself. I’ve got extensive labouring experience as I’ve worked labour hire for the last 5 years on and off on residential, commercial and civil.

My question is as a civil labourer how can I stand out and add value to the crew as my capability is quiet limited to the scope of work and fast track my progress to eventually get an opportunity on a machine and repay my boss for giving me a shot?

What does it feel like to retire from work after working your whole life?

This is a weird one but I sometimes wonder what the feeling would be like to walk out of your job/career after working 40+ years for the final time and how people feel when the day arrives? What happens on the day etc.

For some context: I work in a concierge roll in a building and the staff have to return their passes when they leave or retire, one of the staff members who has worked here for many years just retired today and she was a lovely lady who had a great reputation within the building and always went above and beyond for her colleagues and didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone.

Umm wtf?!?

In the few hundred hours of bf 6 I’ve played, I’ve never seen a bot so sweaty to the point where it topped the leaderboard by almost 6000 score on both sides and double the amount of kills as anyone else in the lobby.

For context, the lobby was half bots half real players and I joined with roughly 5 mins remaining. I am pretty confused yet wondering if this is a common theme or an anomaly and wondering if anyone’s seen anything like this before lmao?

Does anyone remember Playground Bar? What ever happened to that place?

As someone who has lived in CBR my whole life, playground was one of the first bars I went to when I was 18 (10 yrs ago) and I remember the place was always buzzing on a Saturday and sometimes even a Friday night!! I started going there more with friends and at one point it was our go to spot. I walked past it for the first time in probably 5-6 years yesterday and it’s now called Beirut bunker? I’m guessing COVID may have killed it as it was a smaller bar compared to the larger scale ones around the area?

Anyone know what happened in the end with playground and how long Beirut has been there?

For the folks that want SA to return to SR!

Looking back now in what way did SA supposedly make the competition a better product yet hardly had any success to show for it? I understand the logistics of it all wasn’t sustainable for the long term but what did they actually do to make the comp just better? No hate just genuinely curious of it all.

For those who have travelled the Caribbean, which places went above and beyond your expectations but were also budget friendly?

I have had a fascination with the Caribbean for the last 6-12 months and one day I would love to take my partner there for a once in a lifetime trip as she loves tropical island climates with pristine beaches and beautiful scenery. For some context, we both live in Australia and have been to Indonesia (Bali) twice and have done the pacific islands (New Caledonia, Vanuatu etc) and we’re bored of visiting those places that are closer to our home.

I’ve watched YT heaps and have done some research about all the Caribbean islands but would like some first hand experiences, suggestions, recommendations and whatever you have about them positive or negative.
