I’ve unboxed him today and I am happy.
I thought he is a bit crossed eyed but I guess that is now his face is.
This doll comes with two outfits, two pair of shoes and a pair of sunglasses, so I would say we got some good stuff for our money, as Ken and Barbie from this wave cost the same and Ken at least have those skates, but poor Barbie just have what she wears, there is nothing more, not even a small purse…

I know he creeps many people out and that´s alright. I love him for that. I love when doll isn’t just a pretty face. I would love to know what Micheal Cera thinks of his doll… The doll doesn’t resemble him as much as Ken or Barbie resembles Ryan Gosling or Margot Robbie.

The outfits are nice, jumpsuit is made of the same material as the Barbie’s one, it is a different pattern though and unlike the Barbie’s one it fits curvy Barbie.
Blue shorts are very nice, made of thick and quality probably cotton fabric. Shirt is made of these two different fabrics, the front part is a little bit like a towel from the inside, it is heavy and it works - there are no buttons but shirt holds closed. I like both pair of shoes, they are new molds to my collection and the sunglasses are particularly nice. They are not see through, but the glass looks reflective which is a nice detail.

I prefer dolls on a made to move body, this one is in articulated; but all the cool accessories given, I let this slip through. Made to move body matches are Looks 18 and Looks 5, so basically no one (if you aren’t the lucky one who stocked up), as these are too expensive and unreachable as body donors. I actually wouldn’t mind giving him Looks 10 slender body, but color wise it is not a good match.

I’ve noticed there is a difference in US and European packaging, as the US one has a bigger photo on the back. The European has more text and info.

Overall he is a great doll and fun addition to my collection.

I bought parfume for my dolls and it was this small bitch. Okay, I could see it is only 30 ml, but why have a BIG tester bottle and then sell this!?

Victoria: No, but a bunch of the Basics models were just talking about your cute little photoshoot.
Anikke: It has must have got lost… Girls, Victoria is here!

Anikke: Scooch, so she can sit on the sofa.
Layla: (whispers to Renata) I’ve said so… she is pissed.

Victoria: Don’t call me Vikki, you know I hate that. You are bunch of two faced bitches. But I am going to be professional and take this photo anyway.
Renata: (whispers to Layla) You know, she really wears mint green…

Victoria: (grinds through her teeth): I’ve always thought that social pirraha is gonna to be Layla, as she can’t make our signature hairstyle with her short hair.

Tenth frame:
Everyone is silently waiting for Layla’s reaction.

Layla: You witch! I stood up for you and now you are short hair shaming me?

I am going to have so much fun with these dolls. I only wish Allan is made to move already as body donors are unavailable. I’ve enjoyed previous post asking about favourite dolls from Barbie The Movie line and there is so many cool doll I’ve forgotten about!

I am very much looking forward to unboxing him! I already have Barbie in Pink Puffy Dress and I am coming with you Ken, so here is Allan to join the gang.

I love he comes with two outfits, and I love his creepy and expressive face. I am wondering if I should rebody him on new Barbie Basics Model 10 Ken, who is slender. I will see when I unbox him. It probably won’t be a good match color-vise. Did anyone put him on this body? What other made to move body is a match for Allan?

I was lurking in my closest toy store and there he was. It was cool to see him in person! He is so tall! I am not getting this doll, as I don’t support molded hair and bears on dolls at this price range, but he is very nice and I like the clothes. He was the only abandoned one on a top shelf in damaged box.
There were plenty od mermaid Odiles, I bought them two years ago (is that possible?) at the same vendor but online, this was the first time I’ve seen them in the actual store. They had coulple of Dream besties, Barbie Deluxe (none of the rare dolls), Fashionistas, made to move yoga dolls. Mini Barbieland items from the first wave… Not a bad sellection for Sparkys, not the best either.

They both started as collector face sculpt and then they both got their way into playline too. Both very gorgeous and loved. These particular two both with side eye and gorgeous hair. And both are so cute on curvy body. Right?

I love Victoria’s face sculpt. I’ve put both my Looks 13 and Looks 22 on tall bodies. I’ve experimented with curvy for Barbie Basics Model 07 (2nd picture) and they I’ve got this tall body in a right skin tone, so I made her grew up a bit. She is so different on tall! Who do you like better?

They say all the Barbie Basics clothes are supposed to fit all the body types. So I’ve decided to try all the clothes from the Barbie Basics 2nd neutrals wave and You Create Kits 002 and 003. I’ve created 12 outfits and tried them on curvy, tall, petite and original body types. Only Ken had less outfits as he couldn’t fit into some tops and none of my Kens want to wear dresses.
I’ve dressed up over 45 dolls to try every piece on every body type and I had a blast.

Conclusion:
- They really fit everyone. Surprisingly enough even Ken. Even some of the small tops. But yeah, all female dolls can close and fit to everything.
- They don’t look great on everyone - especially for petite dolls they are on a bigger size.
- Dresses looks amazing on all body types.
- Pants looks the best on curvy and Ken. They are also bit short for tall and too long for petite.
- Curvy dolls looks great in almost everything.

I’ve bought her to have an extra body for You Create Barbie Basics Kit 002. I thought, I already have a Tamika and I don’t need another one. I usually like my dolls curvy, but this one is an exception. The moment I gave her the athletic body Tango came on, she clicked! It is a good thing Tango looks cute on curvy. Poor Pazette and Elle, all bodies are taken.

- I bought You Create Barbie Basics Kit 002 for Tango (and I love her).
- I bought Barbie Basics Model 09 Tamika to have an extra body for Pazette from kit 002.
- I wasn’t so thrilled about Pazette or Elle. 🤷🏻‍♀️
- But I like Tamika on the athletic body and Tango on a curvy one.
- I’ve tried straighten Tango’s hair and this is the result of the first session (I am kind of glad I didn’t try to straighten BB 07 Victoria’s hair too, it is quite time consuming and to be honest I’ve hoped for even straighter results).
- The clothes in Kit 002 is mostly nice. Just not together. I wanted to pair this top with this skirt the moment I saw those two exists.
- One pair of shoes from the kit fit only the regular, the other one is for curvy feet.

Cute doll anyway. What do you think?

I don’t have this kind of dressing figurine, so I actually bought it for it. I found it in a grocery store near me after a disappointing visit to several toy stores. This was the best thing I’ve come across that day Barbie related. There were five little squares of fabric (pic 5) and what it yet a second great thing a sheet of little velcros (pic 6). I have trouble finding those in this scale and density for my sewing projects, so that was a nice surprise and I was thrilled about those. They are like little stickers because you can arrange fabrics on the figurine or your doll as a dress. I didn’t do that, that the adult part of the story, I didn’t put any stickers that were included on the figurine nor I didn’t open the second gift included (pic 7). I like the scrunchie, but otherwise it is more for a little girl, so I will give it to a daughter of my friend I believe it will bring more joy to her then to me. As I am a boring adult first idea of what to do with all that fabric was to make pillows. Or some tops. There is not much fabric to work with and it is slippery.
I’ve noticed that the figure has this peg and wandered if a head would sit there. And it would! It fits perfectly! And I had a big laugh. Therefore I start my post with it.
The magazine itself was nice too this time, there were a lot of mini games, nice poster and what I really appreciate was Barbie as a paper dressing doll. I loved these when I was kid.

I occasionally buy this thing and usually I am a bit disappointed, but this time around it was a lot of fun!

What childish Barbie related goodie do you treat yourself?

… well all but BB 10, who was still in the box and I am too lazy to take pictures with him once again. Therefore he is solo with Ryan on the last pic.

Dudes squatted the main diorama, they like it there and they don’t want to leave and free that space for Barbie.

As you can see on the picture 2 and 3 I have all the previous Victorias (some even twice). Actually I have one more extra Looks 22 head as she was a petite body donor.

I guess I got lucky, as mine BB 07 arrived pretty as she could be and not wonky at all as many of Victorias tend to be wonky as f. for some reason.

I don’t like when they give doll curly hair in ponytail (they’ve done the same nonsense with BB 03 Claudette and poor BMR1959 Millie). How does she looks just after ponytail untangled is on the last picture and it is not the best look. Luckily after boil wash her hair came back to a curly state. I gave her the same band like hair style as to my Looks 6 and 13 aka Anikke and Victoria. First I thought I will straighten her hair as I’ve done with already mentioned Millie, but I happen to like her like she is for now.

Three of my five Vitorias are on the tall body type. One is on the regular and I decided to put the new one who I’ve named Renata to a curvy body. So she is on a Looks 24, she looked as a better match before I actually put the head there, but it is close enough. She is incredibly cute this way. What do you think?
