I’ll most likely be going for a tech branch (IT, AI&DS, or CS) for my first year. I’ve been using a PC till now, so I don’t have a laptop and I’m planning to buy one.

1. I want to ask which system will be better MAC OS or Windows

2. What should be BARE MINIMUM specs for an laptop

3. What MINIMUM / AVG budget should I keep in mind

4. How much work is actually done on a laptop in college? Is a laptop necessary from the very first day, or can I manage without one initially?

Any advice from seniors/students would be really helpful!

I'm getting:

- VESIT: IT / AIDS

- TSES: AIDS / ENTC

I'm more interested in tech branches, so I'm mainly confused between VESIT IT and VESIT AIDS.

I've heard that AIDS has great future scope, but since it's a newer branch, I'm not sure how it'll compare to IT in the long run.

Also, someone told me TSES is affiliated with Hyderabad University instead of Mumbai University, and that MU has better brand value for M.Tech/MS admissions and alumni connections. Is this actually true?

Would love to hear from seniors about placements, faculty, and which option you'd recommend.
