I brewed up a cool fun Lorehold/Boros budget standard deck
I've been testing it out on Arena and its been quite fun I plan to buy the paper version and bring it to a standard game night.
The deck relies on discarding cards and removing cards from your graveyard to buff your creatures and also get value from multiple spells.
Your main creatures are Marauding Mako, Hardened Academic, and Lorehold Mascot. You would want to play those 3 creatures as fast as possible. Creatures like Rubble Rouser and Practiced Scrollsmith help with discarding cards and removing cards from your graveyard to buff the 3 main creatures. Practiced Scrollsmith also lets you play the exiled spell card until the end of your next turn. So it generates a lot of value as it will not only trigger both Hardened Academic and Lorehold Mascot, but it also allows you to cast the exlied spell again allowing one spell card to be cast twice (unless it was discarded). I also added one Stone Docent to act as an easy card to discard whenever required as the exile ability only cost 1 white and allows you to gain 2 life and surviel 2 and would also trigger the Academic and Mascot.
For the remaing spells, Helping Hand helps you bring back creatures from your graveyard onto the battlefield which would trigger both Academic and Mascot. The nice thing is that all the creatures in the deck are aligible to be brought back as they all have mana cost 3 or less. Repel Calamity helps deal with big creatures, as most of the time even if your creatures have multiple counters on them, they won't have enough might to deal with them. So I included 3 copies to deal with any annoying big creature that my oppponent would play especially if going against a green deck. Lightning Helix helps to deal with any smaller creature that you might want to get rid of before attacking or just deal 3 damage to your opponent to finish him off. Lorehold Charm act like a kind of swiss army knife. It can bring back a creature from your graveyard with cmc 2 or less, which can again buff Academic or Mascot, Give all creatures +1/+1 and trample for the turn, which can help you end a game. Or destroy artifacts, I don't really use the artifact trigger, but it is nice to have if I'm going against an artifact heavy deck. Pursue the Past is one of the key spells in the deck as it allows you to discard a card to draw 2, the discarding will trigger Maco giving him a +1/+1 counter, it also has flashback which would trigger Academic and Mascot. I also like to use Practiced Scrollsmith's etb to exile Pursue the Past which allows you to recast it paying for it with its og cmc and not the flashback cost. Practiced Offense is another key spell, most of the time you mainly want to play this spell from the graveyard as the flashback cost is cheaper than the og cmc, so it is also another card that you wouldn't mind discarding it to play it from the graveyard. The +1/+1 counters and the lifelink or double strike (until end of turn) are also nice to have.
In terms of matchup
Stompy decks: You kind of beat stompy decks as you have 4 Repel Calamities which would destory and any creature with 4 might or toughness so you shut down the creatures before they can get any bigger or attack while you build a board fast with decent might to attack your opponent.
Control decks: This is a 50/50 most of the time because your creatures are quite cheap and your spells can be played from your graveyard, if your opponent were ot bounce your creatures baclk our counter your spells, you be able to rebuild your board or cast those spells again the next turn again.
Those are mostly the decks that I have gone against when testing the deck. If I face other archetypes, I'll edit this post
