Has anyone ever actually played any of these?

I have at least 1 copy of each of these cards and while I love them (they’re so cool! The ultimate red magic, imo) I’ve never actually dared play any of them. Everyone would hate me for doing it (I’d probably even hate myself) and they’d be valid for it.

I wanna live vicariously through anyone that’s played one or witnessed one resolve. What happened, was it an instant scoop?

Best Birthday Ever!

I asked my sister to get me the Gamcenic felt beckboxes for my B-day, but then she went and spoke with Mike Turian (senior executive producer at WOTC & Pro Tour legend) who she occasionally works with from colliding buisness circles. Mike hearing it was my birthday then put together over $300 worth of merch and gave it to her to pass on to me, what a kind hearted legend im stunned and so appreciative. Best Birthday Ever!

Side note: This guys lore is actually so cool xD #PotatoNation!!

Same effect but worded differently?

I may be just over complicating things but I’m a new player and want to know if somehow, the wording on Armadillo cloak is worded funny on purpose instead of just saying lifelink. Does it have some different ruling compared to lifelink? Sorry if it’s a dumb question I’m just curious. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks for the positive and swift responses!

Bracket 1 "Mechanics Matter" Deck

I remember seeing a Shuffle Up & Play commander game where one of the guests was absolutely torturing The Professor with a deck filled with Prof's least favorite things about Magic. This included illegible alt arts, universes beyond, and of course, obscure and hard to track mechanics.

This got me to thinking, I too, would like to torment my friends with asinine mechanics. Especially those that stick around long after I am beaten into submission for my life choices.

I am thinking mechanics like Day/Night, Take the Initiative, Monarch, The Ring Tempts You and 1-off tokens like Mutagen from TMNT. What else should I include? Who should helm this missed trigger of a commander deck?

Amazon Cancelling Booster Box Orders

Very livid right now.

I ordered my The Hobbit Booster Box just hours after preorders became available. I resisted ordering it from another vendor when the price came down, because I thought my order was secure since I ordered it just a couple of hours after preorders were opened and it was Amazon. But when release day rolled around, I got a notice saying that it was delayed until August 20. I grumbled, but thought, "well, so long as it arrives." Today when I looked up the order to find the tracking info, it wasn't there. Checked my email, and sure enough, there was a cancellation notice.

To make matters worse.... people I know who placed their orders days, weeks, and even a month later have gotten their Booster Box orders... but mine got cancelled.

If you've ordered from Amazon and haven't gotten your product... check them right now, because Amazon appears to be cancelling them.

Sorry, just need to vent. I am very, very pissed right now.

How good is stealing a commander?

Was looking through some more jank piles and found that this can steal commanders. I wonder if there are cheaper versions of this effect.

Anyways I was wondering would you hold open 5 mana to steal a commander, potentially locking the person out of their main strategy or is that a bad idea?

This is the greatest thing I've ever made.

I had this idea early this year and was finally able to get it made. Now I just don't know if I want to use it for a food deck or a planeswalker deck.

Weird almost card thing in witherbloom precon

I found this thing in my witherbloom precon box. I noticed it sticking out one of the cracks in the box at first, and then when I opened it it came out. I kinda if looks like its stuck to the card, sort of like stickers, but I’m afraid to pull them off, because I don’t know what it is. Does anyone out there know what this thing is?

Lost my job and started making deck boxes for friends

Lost my job awhile ago and the market has been tough. I recently started making deck boxes for my pod and friends. These are fully 3d printed. I use solidworks to make my box design and art is typically sent to me by whoever I'm making the box for. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out! I think they're kinda cool. Let me know if you have any questions about my process :)

Improve playgroup or keep?

So I pulled a surge The One Ring yesterday (I know it looks like a bit of a humble brag but this is more stressful than fun for me so far), and I’m conflicted on what to do with it. I’m looking for insight from others who may have been in a similar situation.

I’m not a “collector” per say. I have a large collection, but it’s all cards to play with. My personal motto is “Magic is meant to be played.” I don’t have “collectible” cards to show off or display. This is the first card I’m considering keeping to display but I had other thoughts of what to do with it. Such as, trading in and giving my playgroup an even split 4 ways. Which I hope will help some of the players less inclined to spend money to upgrade their precons.

To me this seems the most logical choice
but my emotion is telling me to keep it. The only reason being that it is LotR. Huge fan. I have what amounts to a shrine of Middle Earth in my home. This would be nice addition. Still, I am conflicted.

To recap: Not a big Magic collector, am a player. Huge LotR fan. Deciding between keeping the card for LotR shrine and trading in and splitting the gains between my playgroup in the hopes of improving play experience for everyone.

I’m a very indecisive person and often regret decisions.

Update: Wowsers. I was not expecting the flood of comments. Maybe a dozen. But thank you all for the input. A few of you have made me think more about it and one in particular has given a reasonable test. I’m going to display it for a week on my shrine, then a week without and gauge how I feel about it after that.

Those who said not to split it with my playgroup, that was a much needed reigning in. I am very nieve and often too generous when it comes to the game. I’ve given away hundreds of cards just to get more people into the game and often without looking at value. I love my group but you’re right and they are adults capable of their own decisions.

Am I reading it correctly?

Local Microcenter will have The Hobbit collector booster on 08/21. But price for 3+: $129.99 each while 1 at $37.99? May be it means 3 for $129.99?

Love my LGS!!

They’ve been trying to do whatever they can to get some Hobbit in since they were told they wouldn’t get their order till September, they got their hands on some checkout packs and didn’t ridiculously over charge! Much love to the LGS’s out there that are here for the gamers 🖤
