before I get the comments, I took it home and ate it. Bunch of Karen’s on this telling me not to touch the trout dry handed out of water. been trout fishing since I was able to hold a rod in my hand. I know how to handle a trout. 🙃 just sharing.

hey there, just caught these three beautiful browns the other day while fishing with a buddy two of them being 13” and the big one being 15”. I love catching and cooking, but I cannot get past the fishy taste of trout. I typically cut the fillets out along with the spine meat. I toss them up in an egg wash and breadcrumbs. Then fry them in peanut oil. And oh my goodness, are they good. i’m just curious as to see what you guys do to cook your trout. any secrets that I don’t know of. also just wanted to share these pictures!
i’m a trout fisherman by nature. I grew up fishing small streams with my father. I’ve caught all the different variety of trout in New York has to offer. My most common spots are the mohawk river, West Canada Creek and Black River. I’m just getting into fly fishing as of the past year and it is very difficult to even catch a small trout on a fly rod. i’ve taken my six weight up to Bass Ponds and slam Bass, but for some reason, I cannot catch a trout on a fly rod to save my life. when I go, I try all sorts of flies and streamers. Not a thing on the end of my line. What I’m asking for is some advice on what flies to use in central New York and maybe some ideas of places that I can practice whether it be catching smaller trout or larger trout it does not matter. Putting the right fly on my rod has been difficult for me. I don’t know what to use. thank you for anyone who can help me.

Was out camping in the adirondaks of New York over the weekend with a few friends of mine. while me and two of my other friends slept soundly in a tent, my other buddy slept outside. He woke up with his hand throbbing and all swollen. We found this spider near where he was sleeping in his travel backpack. please let me know if its a possibility if this could have been what bit him.
