Hello, I’m a collector of Japanese ephemera. While this field isn’t yet widely known in Japan, there is still a collector’s market. I’d also love to learn more about ephemera from other countries! I look forward to connecting with you.

This is the back of the photo I showed you earlier. It reads as follows:
"March 10, 1956. On the northern ridge of Mae-Ho. Masahiro Asako (Note: the student who died) was lost. This photo was taken by Asako and was found inside the tent. From the summit of Byobu-iwa to Mae-Ho (illegible)."
In March 1956, the mountaineering club of a certain university was involved in an accident on Mount Hotaka in the Japan Alps. One club member was swept away by an avalanche and went missing. Six months later, the body was discovered by a search party from the mountaineering club, and it appears that a photograph taken by the victim just before his death, along with a letter reporting the incident, was distributed to those involved. There is a note on the back of this photo stating that it was found by a search party inside the tent of the mountaineering club that had gone missing.
From a collection of old photographs taken by students of the former Matsumoto High School, which once existed in Nagano Prefecture. This double exposure captures a moment with a friend who is skilled at playing cards. The caption reads as follows:
“Science Class B · Card Game Expert. If you want to forget your worries and lose track of time, please come to Arai’s boarding house. I’ll play with you even on exam day.”
Hello. Nice to meet you. I collect found photos from Japan. It’s nice to meet you.
