Old vs new OEM cover

Where can I get a high-quality cover for a large big green egg?

I have the old one and it is nice and thick. I tried to purchase one of the new ones and it just seems so flimsy compared to the old one.

Rain set up

I am a believer. Just got this thing, happy to learn I can pull it close enough to my house that the roof covers the vent.

Edit: This is chicken breast. Cooked at 450ish with convertor until 155-160 internal. Rested for 15 min.

Just seasoned with EVOO, Lawrys, and pepper.

Daisy wheel vs damper

Hi, I just got a new big green egg. It came with a very well used daisy wheel vent, and the ceramic damper.

The daisy wheel came without the metal handle so once it’s on, I’m unable to remove it until cool.

Do you all actually remove the cast-iron vent and put on the damper to put out the egg?

Is it worth finding a handle or just buying a new vent?

Follow up: Question about moving a large green egg

Original Post:

I moved it! Was able to move it alone, just had to take it completely apart.

Important note: do NOT try to move the base and nest together, they must be moved separately.

Can’t wait to cook on this beauty, got her all cleaned up.

Quick questions about moving a big green egg (large)

So a neighbor is moving and unable to take their big green egg so they are giving it to me for a decent price. It is on the caster wheels size large I need to get it up six stairs then I can wheel it then I need to get it down six stairs.

Really the only trouble it’s gonna be getting it up and down those stairs, any advice I’d really like to do it on my own? Thinking about taking the dome off and taking out all the internal components.

Best thing I ever did for my game….

I know this is against our religion, but I have completely abandoned my quest for more distance. Focusing only on accuracy and consistency.

Does anybody else seem to only be able to throw powerfully with solid form on hyzer? Anytime I try to throw flat or anhyzer, it’s hard to get the perfect pull through and snap. It sort of throws me out of an athletic motion.
