I called sainsburys to follow up for an interview i had nearly 2 weeks ago and they told me the position I interviewed for has been filled. However, they said there should be a temporary role becoming available soon and asked me to call back tomorrow after 12 to discuss it.

Has anyone had something similar happen at Sainsbury’s? Does this mean they were impressed with my interview, or is this fairly common?

Hi, I had an interview for an Argos Customer Assistant role in Sainsbury’s on the 7th August.

I thought the interview went really well and considering that my mum works there also, i think ive got a pretty good chance.

The person who interviewed me was a shift manager, but they mentioned that the final decision wasn’t up to them. They also mentioned that i'd get a call for sometime that following week so from the 10th to the 16th but nothing.

I believe they finished interviewing the other candidates on Wednesday, so I’m assuming they’re making a decision now.

For anyone who has worked at Sainsbury’s or recently gone through the hiring process, how long did it take for you to hear back after your interview? Did they call or email you?

Ive also check the portal, it still says under review

Just trying to get an idea of how long I should expect to wait.

I applied for a Tesco Express job on the 15th. About 20 minutes after applying, I got a phone call from the store saying they were going to send me a Right to Work email to complete. They said once I'd done that, I'd receive another email inviting me to an interview.

I completed the Right to Work check the same day, but it's now been 6 days and I haven't heard anything since. No interview email, no update, nothing.

Is this normal with Tesco recruitment, has anyone else had to wait this long after completing the Right to Work check?
