Help figuring out leg armor!

Hey everyone! I’m trying to upgrade my kit from looking like a merc to a knight, as affordable as possible. My plan is to get legs, chest, and helmet prolly! But for the legs I want to try to avoid something that needs like an arming belt or do be tied to the waist to prevent more expenses. Would any of the photos provided be usable without waist suspension, like just tie to tie legs and that’s it?

IT HAS ARRIVED (short review)

My custom made Longsword from EGKH has finally arrived after months of anxiety and anticipation and I LOVE IT!

I want to preface the review by saying almost all flaws with this blade are purely my own, these smiths do not regularly or traditionally make longswords I’m new to custom stuff, so I got some of my preferred dimensions wrong in the contract.

Apon opening the sword, it actually exceeded my expectations. With the preview images sent the belt and leatherwork of the sword looked cherry red, but after receiving it, it’s darkened to perfection and matched my kit very well. And the scabbard suspension I was worried about is indeed perfectly set up for left handed use! The leather looks almost old in worn, but in the coolest way possible. The scabbard also lacks a seal, while this isn’t a huge issue because the sword is completely blunted, it’s still something to be mindful of to prevent damage and would be unsafe if it was sharp. This can be prevented easily by specifically telling the smiths you prefer a good seal. I did not think to. The rabbit design is also off center, but I find it to be a bit of personal charm. Aside from that, the scabbard is incredible and very well done and the belt quality is way better than expected!

Moving on to the sword itself, it’s utterly beautiful! The leatherwork is amazing and the metal looks fantastic! The blade is quite thick and most definitely not sparring safe but should be great for solo practice, the hilt is a bit smaller than I like, and that was my design mistake. It’s not at all too small, but with the pommel I find my bottom hand slipping and digging into it here and there. Also my choice in pommel style makes the blade feel ever so slightly blade heavy, because of the smaller and slimmer style it’s counterweight abilities are limited, but this is normal and just varies by sword and design.

I requested the blade to weigh no more than 3lbs and it came in at just about 3.10, absolutely blown away by that accuracy and the attention to detail is unreal for a company known for overbuilding there sword they really surprised me with that!

Overall I love this sword so much, it is definitely my new favorite and I sold recommend EGKH any day, just be VERY specific about what you want and need, and they will definitely deliver. For a fully drawn custom order at $410. This is beyond what you pay for.

Social media and video review coming soon!

EGKH sword concerns PLEASE HELP

Hey guys! As I’ve previously talked about I’ve ordered a sword from EGKH and have been working with them on it for months. For the entire process of making the blade they were incredible, consistent communication and very frequent progress images. However when they finished the blade, I got ZERO progress images on the scabbard and didn’t get the chance to reiterate that I was left handed before they finished it, I had said it early on but likely glazed over it. After I noticed the suspension was wrong I asked for a correction and they said they would, however every time I emailed and asked they replied very dry and never fully answered on weather they fixed the suspension or not. They sent me the final images tonight after about 4 emails to them saying the sword would be unusable if it was right handed, and unless I’m mistaken they made no change.

The first image is the original image of the sword with the right handed suspension I asked them to correct, the rest of the images, (with the metal tip on the scabbard) are the supposedly finished and newest images. Am I tweaking, or did they ignore me completely and keep it right handed?

UPDATE: they emailed back saying the images were older and the suspension is completely corrected. I suppose we’ll just wait and see!

They finished it!!!

Finally! As yall may have seen in my earlier posts I commissioned a custom sword from EGKH over in Nepal, I wanted to have a custom trainer that looked like a real historical sword but still functional in sparring, to be honest bc of their work w mainly kukris I think they made the blade far too thicc to safely hit someone w lol. However! Given they kept the weight how I requested this should be a perfect solo trainer and sentimental blade. The swords name is leporis, the sword of the killer hare and that imagery has a LOT of sentimental value to me, emotional personal stuff and I’m a bunny dad. The goal was to keep it historically accurate so something that would be seen around 15th century Bohemia! Let me know what you guys think of it! And I’ll post a video review on social medias once it’s in my hands!

Thoughts on my custom sword and safety?

Hey guys! I recently commissioned a custom sword from the talented smiths at EGKH. My goal was to get a fully personalized, relatively safe training sword. Since they specialize in kukri and cutting blades, I knew asking for a safe trainer was a bit of a gamble. However, I trusted their artistry and figured proper instructions would bridge the gap.
Ideally, this will be a blunt trainer for solo drills and forms. I also want it to function as a semi-safe sparring option until I eventually get a proper feder. There isn't a local HEMA scene near me, so contact sparring will be rare. Because of that, it doesn't need to meet official tournament regulations, but I definitely want to avoid hurting someone with a blunt crowbar!
The forge just sent me these flex test images, and I'd love to get your opinions. How safe does this flex look to you? What are your overall thoughts on the piece so far?

noA was red and staring at me…

I’m unsure if anybody else noticed this, or has seen this happen, but I promise you I’m not lying!! I wish I took a photo to prove it.

I had just walked into my base and it had full power, however when I walked into the room containing the now node, his light was red. He fully tracked me me walking around as he normally does and when I interacted with him he turned back to blue.

I’ve heard nobody experiencing this aside from Me, so it could’ve been a glitch. But I think he know we’re figuring things out. And he’s playing games w us.

Missile callouts

Hey everyone! I saw some dog fighting footage from back in the desert storm conflict. It was F 15’s engaging Iraqi migs, during the confrontation whenever you see the F 15 fire missiles they shout “Fox foooooox” as opposed to the traditional “Fox 1, 2, 3” is there a particular reason they said it like this? Maybe because they were only armed with one type?

My sword commission Leporis!

I recently commissioned a sword from EGKH with the intention to be visually historically accurate but still function as a semi safe sparring sword (it won’t get much use) its name leporis is Latin for of the rabbit. It’s supposed to symbolize the idea of the killer hare and the prey turned predator. I’m a bunny dad of two so I love rabbits to death and I always see myself as a scrawny non confrontational guy but I can turn tables with a sword and some other personal symbolism bs.

Be nice I know I’m not the best artist.
The goal was to make it almost 100% historically accurate while still being 1-1 custom and personal to me so I used oakshot typography and added a little personal flair to it so it can be original. Let me know what you guys think I’m super excited to receive it!
